“Relieved to have the data back and the iPad apparently working. Early communication could have been more efficient but generally was ok. Greater clarity of file type - I expected something that could feed into Word or into my IPad. I was unaware that I needed another app to access the data.”

Hi Ahemed Glad we could help with the recovery of your 11 year old Western Digital WD10EADS-11M2B3 Green, it had put in a good service. The slow response was solved by our engineers without the need for a rebuild and without the need for an extended bad sector recovery being less than a quarter full. The service was provided at £159+vat on a 24-72hr service plus costs for a new portable drive and return shipping. The miss communication was that I had also quoted the 4 - 6 day service at £129+vat Whilst the speed of the case may have appeared to be fast and easy, the processing still required our expertise, resources and procedures to deliver a full recovery and return the data securely on a password protected 1TB Westen Digital MyPasspot. Hi Graham Thank you for the review and apologies for not returning the USB cable which can happen when clients send in their own drive for the recovered data. Most are returned on password protected portable drive. We prefer not to use client cables and in this case it was put aside in a box of cables. We replaced it with a brand new USB cable. The recovery of the 16 year old Seagate Barracuda 80GB ST380011A drive was made possible despite the wear thanks to our donor parts stock and skilled data recovery engineers. After the rebuild using a donor sourced from our extensive stock just 3 files were affected by unreadable sectors caused by the head crash. In reality this amount of data could have been sent by secure download. What is notable is that just 3 files were affected in a drive that was over 80% full ******************************************************* Folders - 321 Files - 27970 ( 61.44 Gb) Normal Files - 27967 Problem Files - 3 ******************************************************* Another recovery of data by team R3 www.r3data recovery.com

During that period we were completing the refurbishment of the lab which added to what is a busy operation. Looking at the case notes below I can see it was the efficiency of the team which pushed through the recovery of your password protected Western Digital HDD which was believed to be degraded but was actually mechanical that affected some of the communication, but it was processed as quickly as possible. It was my own time constraints which lead to the poor communication. This can happen from time to time especially during peaks of demand or handling disaster cases. My apologies. Thank you for the review Iain I can understand why you would see the cost of recovering a WD80EFZX-68UW8N0 but it was actually very cost effective and a fraction of what it would have cost to recover the whole RAID. You were unfortunate to lose one 8TB drive (SATA 128MB Cache WD80EFZX) in a RAID 0 array of 6 identical disks in a QNAP NAS Had it been a RAID 5 the loss of 1 disc would not have affected the data. SanDisk SDHC Memory card with a monolith controller and NAND requiring a pin out read. Despite corruption to the NAND most data was reassembled and returned by password protected secure download. In many cases where software data recovery does not work there are still solutions developed by Team R3 Data Recovery that can rescue data R3 are Britain's Data Recovery Hospital !

“Somehow I managed to break a hard drive and after a thorough search online I found R3. Having to learn the hard way I never back up my kids pictures or videos and was desperate to get something back. Using R3 they put my mind at rest and tried to recover as much as they could. Throughout the whole process they were helpful and when a folder couldn't be found they tried their upmost to do another scan and try and find it. I have the majority of the pictures back, in a proper photo format I may add too but have lost some of the videos. This was an expensive lesson to learn but cannot fault R3 throughout the whole process. Should I ever be stupid enough to not back the items up again i will use these without hesitation. I read a number of reviews of other companies and did some ground work prior to using R3 and I must add that they were the ones who were helpful, attentive and had really good customer service. I would recommend them to anyone looking to recover data.”

Hi Donald Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Your Seagate 2TB drive had failed and R3 were successful in recovering the data in the same condition as before with 99.75% integrity. Some corruption of files can happen prior to the actual failure as the drive degrades.

“They recovered my data fast and did what they said they would. My criticism is the fact that they use UPS to send the hard drive back to you. My experience of UPS in trying to retrieve my - enormously valuable - package was singularly the worst customer service experience I have ever had resulting in me reaching homicidal levels of stress. They repeatedly couldn't/wouldn't deliver at the time or place I requested to the extent that I had burned 3 days annual leave in being available by the time I received the package. If UPS were the last delivery business on the planet, I would not use them. So, if I was to need R3's services in the future, I would go elsewhere if UPS was to be the courier used.”
