When my father passed away it was an extremely emotional time. I would like to compliment the pure cremation team on their professionalism from start to finish. They were always available to answer any questions. They kept us informed every step of the way. The gentlemen that collected my dad were kind, polite and professional. They did not rush us at all. then we were helped throughout and advised correctly on how to register the death and what documentation was needed. Everything went to plan without any problems right up to when the ashes were returned to us. Outstanding service. Thankyou very much for your superb support during a very difficult time. Well done.

I’d seen the TV ads, and when my younger brother passed away, after a chat to my mum, we decided on pure cremation with a memorial wake to celebrate his life. Your child isn’t supposed to go before you, so mum was keen on this idea, rather than black-clad mourners at a graveside. Right decision, and the staff at Pure Cremation handled everything efficiently, kindly and sensitively from start to finish. Recommended.

The first time I used Pure Cremation I was so pleased. Communication was prompt and my father's ashes were delivered at a convenient time and in a respectful manner. The ashes were packaged in a lovely purple box. Four years later I used the company for a second time. This time I felt disappointed that I had to chase to find out what the next steps would be. For example, the date of the cremation and delivery of the ashes, and whether it would be possible to have an evening delivery. I had to request this a few times and chase for confirmation the day before which was upsetting as I felt there was little respect or empathy shown by the customer service team. When my mother's ashes were handed over at my front gate the operative said, "ooh can you get the box out I need to scan the label again, I have forgotten how to do this" it felt like an Amazon delivery. There was nothing personal about the experience and no condolences were given. The new box looks like a box of fertiliser.

Initially the service was excellent I was told that my father would be looked after whilst in the care of pure cremation but as soon as his body was collected that’s when the service from Amazon was significantly better than that of pure cremation. Each time I called I was held on the phone for over an hour on speaking to the call centre they didn’t show much compassion on occasion referring to the chap who would return my dads ashes as the ashes team. We were told that our dads ashes would be returned on a certain date and that they would ring ahead that morning with an expected time. Instead they only informed us rolling another 90 mins sat on the phone and when they did arrive to my sisters home they asked her to meet them in a pubs car park and handed our dads ashes over in a bag from the back of a van stuffed full of other peoples ashes ( the ashes team I presume ) unfortunately the perception of the service on the website didn’t match the reality for us. And as for our handler as the call centre called them they spoke to me once to make sure the payment went through. We had hoped that Pure Cremation would live up to the suggestion on the tv add but unfortunately they simply lacked compassion for my family in the actual interaction with us. The after cremation service added to the stress and grief that our family was going through instead of being the respectful service we expected. I hope that these comments will help pure cremation to handle families in a more respectful manner in future. M Ridsdale.

We recognise how important returning the ashes of a loved one is and that is why we have ashes delivery specialists whose sole role is to hand deliver peoples loved ones back to them. From my first enquiry to using your service when my husband passed away recently, your service has been caring, professional and overall faultless. Coming days after losing another member of our family, Pure Cremation was there for me when my family were all very far away. The ashes were returned very promptly and of course, the cost was considerably lower than a traditional undertaker. Thanks to everyone concerned.

From start to finish, Pure Cremation were outstanding in their service. They were a superb mix of compassion and efficiency, keeping in touch throughout to let us know what was happening. It is rare to find a company in which every person you speak to is warm, genuine and as helpful as possible. We would recommend them without hesitation.

The initial process is straightforward and upon notification of my mother's death (she died at 1.20pm) she was collected from the care home some 12 hours later and a direct cremation was carried out 15 days later. A designated Pure Cremation employee kept me updated up to the finalised cremation. There was no notification on the day of cremation and so I telephoned to obtain this information. My mother's ashes were returned to me 22 days later by a man dressed in casual trousers and an open necked shirt with rolled up sleeves and driving a van. The ashes container is plastic, rectangular with a groove in the lid and accompanied by a cremation certificate. I was handed the ashes over my rear garden wall in a cotton 'Pure' tote bag. (Even Amazon deliveries knock on our front door with parcels.) The total cost was £1,290, payable in full (without a prepaid plan) within 48 hours of death notification. Obviously we shall transfer the ashes to a more appropriate urn. I certainly hope that my mother's cremation was conducted in a more dignified manner than the experience of receiving her ashes.

Feedback is really important to us and we’re sorry that our service didn’t appear to meet some of your expectations. We would normally contact a family the day after the committal to confirm that everything has taken place as expected, not on the day itself. If you had asked to be contacted on the day we should have done that. We would normally return ashes within 21 days so we will investigate why there was a delay of a day. At Pure we believe that our colleagues wear a less formal and more practical uniform very different from traditional funeral directors. The handing back of people's loved ones is one of the most important parts of our service. I’m sorry you feel that this was done inappropriately.
