“My Aunt wanted a basic cremation following her passing at home. From the first call to the delivery of her ashes the service was great. Efficient, professional & considerate. This might be a rather new, different approach to many people but it’s certainly one that provided everything we needed. Thank you.”

“I originally contacted Pure Cremation after seeing their advert on the TV. I was curious at first as to how things would work and downloaded their online Funeral Plan Guide. Having read it I had no hesitation in getting in touch. My mother was at that time suffering from an aggressive cancer and it was rapidly spreading. I found the lady I spoke to on the telephone patient, helpful and most of all she made me feel at ease whilst explaining what would happen when my mother finally passed away. All I can say is thank you so much for your kindness and care. From the day my mother passed away to the return of her ashes I found everyone so caring and informative. At no time did I feel that I had been forgotten; I was assigned a 'lady mentor' who kept in regular touch with me letting me know what was happening at each stage and what they needed so that my mother's cremation went smoothly. When it came to returning her ashes it was all pre-arranged and the lady who brought them back to me had an incredible manner; it made the whole process as easy as it could be. I cannot thank Pure Cremation enough for everything they did for me and my family in dealing with what was a very distressing episode and making it as easy as it could have been. Thank you again.”

“Very good service with great help and all things needed and a very good price too as I had to do them at very short notice and get all my paperwork and they got it all done for me really help a lot. I'm very nice people who call you up.”

“After losing both my parents this year pure Cremations is what they both wanted. The people I spoke to made it so stress free and where so helpful at a difficult time..The rest of my family are going to have the same when we all pass.”

“Not knowing what my father wanted other than saying "pure cremation". Sadlyy dad passed before we could sort it together. I rang pure cremation who said "yes we can sort that" I paid for 12 family members to be there. I found that I had to keep ringing to chase them as they were slow coming back to me on things. Arriving on funeral day, it was a lovely but very small room 12ft x12ft maybe. Dads coffin was very 😬 made of unvarnished pine ( all like this as its a no fuss funeral) no service provider so if you are happy to sit for 30 mins and reflect or do your own chat then its good. I found because I was the one talking I didnt get time to reflect . Had to chase for return of Dads ashes. You get what you pay for.”

Thank you for your feedback about our service. As a direct cremation provider, we are also able to provide the option of a limited-service at our beautiful crematorium in Andover. We have created our Oak Room to allow a small number of people to gather and reflect on the life of that person and say a final goodbye, if that is what they wish to do. For families who prefer something closer to their home, we have partnered with a national crematorium company to provide a similar limited service. This is not a traditional funeral service though. I’m sorry that the attended options and inherent restrictions weren’t explained properly to you as they should have been. The coffins we use are solid pine and are imported from Europe. Although very simple in finish they are of excellent quality. We don’t see the need to offer different styles or types of coffin, unlike more traditional funeral directors. It’s clear that we haven’t met our normal standards in terms of how we communicate and also how well we explain the options chosen. We will investigate and a manager will be in touch with you next week with our findings. Kind regards, Olivia

“We were very happy with the service and would recommend to anyone who wants to move away from the traditional funeral route. The only thing to say is that the phone was sometimes answered very quickly and sometimes we had to wait a long time for an answer. That said, we always got through to a real person and they were all very pleasant and efficient to deal with.”

“I chose Pure Cremation solely because they were the first company of its type to advertise on tv and at a time (2017) when I was looking for a plan to pay for a funeral for our brother. Our brother passed away in early September this year and the service provided by Pure Cremation was second to none they collected him from his home in Crewe, carried out the service and delivered his ashes personally to my home in Devon. The staff were exceptional keeping me informed at all times as the process progressed. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who wants a simple but still dignified way of dealing with one of life’s most stressful occasions.”

“My mother was a shy lady even though throughout her life she touched a lot of people who have contacted the family with their memories. She wanted a no fuss funeral and wanted to be cremated and her ashes scattered in a special place by her close family. We all discussed exactly what she wanted and she chose your company because she had seen your lovely adverts on daytime television. When the time came to to use your service we rang in the early hours of the day and the help and guidance given was well presented and very useful. It was given in a thoughtful and professional manner. All was explained and a team was dispatched to collected my dear mother. On arrival the team were professional and thoughtful land dealt with my Mum with great respect, this was appreciated by all the family who were present. They drove slowly away in a dark clean van and again we were all impressed. We were later given a day my Mum was to be cremated and the whole family gathered to remember her and celebrate her life, the only criticism was we were not given a time. Her ashes were hand delivered in a beautiful container again in a respectful manner and we now will arrange for her to scattered. We knew of nobody who had used your services so we did not know what to expect but all I can say is that you exceeded all expectations and my Mum got the send off she wanted and the family all felt that you did a fantastic job. Well done and keep up the good work, I would wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone who does not want the fuss of a funeral but wants a dignified fair well for their loved ones.”

“A new experience for our family to endure. You provided an excellent service in which we are very grateful of all your help and support along the journey. A massive Thank You to Andrea the Manager who arranged our devoted beloved Father to be brought back to us loved ones within a few days a due to my emotional breakdown in which she addressed gracefully in which I am eternally grateful. I was most distressed that on the day of return of my beloved Fathers ashes that a Sign posted advertised vehicle brought him back - I think this should be done more discretely due to the sensitivity of the family and neighbours being aware - should be personal.”

“Dad chose Pure Cremation before he passed. Although we were a little apprehensive about not having a service, from our first call through to dads cremation all was very professional and caring. The man who returned dads ashes was tailor made for this job and made time for a chat and not rushed, very nice guy thank you.”

“Everything was going great. Had no complaints and was happy. Then things went wrong. The ashes were delayed and this was annoying. But the awful and unforgivable thing to me was the lack of trust and care my so called personal person had with me. She repeatedly stated that she would get in touch….. she didn't. She was told by other staff to contact me ………………she didn't. In fact as soon as my father died she literally turned her nose up at me and had nothing to do with me at all. I know its a lot cheaper than traditional funerals but boy do you not get the treatment as befitting the worse times of someones life. I personally at the onset was going to start a plan for me and my wife. But not now. I would not like my son to feel the way I did over weeks of being left in the dark and not knowing what was going on. Overall I give 3 out of 5 for the period up to my father dying. After that its a resounding 0 out of 5. As you can see Im not happy with my Pure Cremation experience.”

Dear Mr Bamforth, I am sorry to hear that your experience with Pure Cremation was not up to the usual high standard that we would expect when trusted with the arrangements of a loved one. Although there was contact at key points in the process and your father’s cremation arrangements progressed as planned, communication could have been better. I note that you didn’t want to be informed of the cremation date, this is normally something that will help us set and manage expectations at these key stages. We will, however, look into why your requests for call backs were not met. I can see that your instructions for your father’s ashes were discussed on a couple of occasions before we arrange their safe return. This confirmed and took place as planned, but again acknowledge that you would have appreciated knowing a more precise time for ahead of the date. What a lovely review, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. The ashes are presented in our unique container made of 100% recycled materials, that comes with a smart photo wrapper and the ceramic token that was place on the coffin prior to cremation.
