Seems odd reviewing a cremation company! However, I cannot praise them enough. From the very sad moment when I made the first call to when the ashes were returned to me the staff have been most professional and caring in the right way. Would I use them again? yes. Thank You Pure Cremation

This is a truly profit focused company without any compassion. They sent their slick promotional material to my mother who died six months ago. Disgusting!

As a family we had seen pure cremations advert on tv and discussed using them as Dad had cancer. When the time came I can honestly say that everything ran seamlessly and all the staff were very helpful and considerate. Since using this service and seeing how easy and well looked after we were quite a few family members and friends have decided that it is something that they would consider. I know it’ll be my choice when the time comes. Thank you everyone for making what can be a harrowing time less stressful, and the container that Dads ashes are in is just perfect.

I was so impressed by the professional and considerate people I spoke with at Pure Cremation whilst arranging our mothers cremation. Other services they offered; the live web-stream, memorial website and sorting out the music for the short service was made very easy - can't stress how much that helps when dealing with such a difficult time. Easy to purchase a plan. The staff have been really good, keeping in contact with my Dad regarding what was happening with my Mam. She was returned to my Dad and placed upon a red carpet. The gentleman who brought her was very polite, supportive and offered ideas that people have done with their loved ones. My Mam is in a biodegradable container with a lovely picture of the woods on it. First class service!

Sensitive and caring, my parents passed very closely together and had both opted for direct cremation with pure cremation. Everything was handled with such care. It made things so much easier during a difficult time.

just a couple of observations. 1. It would be nice to have a single point of contact - every time somebody rang it was a different person. 2. 23 days seemed a long time for the ashes to be delivered after the cremation.

Thank you for the 4 stars, Kenneth, and for your observations. We always want to resolve a query as quickly as possible and so have multiple members of staff able to do this, however, we are working towards having a single customer care advisor to maintain proactive contact with each family. From the day Pure Cremation launched we have promised to aim for ashes' return within 21 days so that we could optimise efficiency and keep our price low. Whilst this is one of the shortest timescales for this style of service, we are working to improve this as well, aiming for a dramatic reduction and to set a new standard.

Where can I start with the team at pure cremation wow they are utterly amazing so super helpful especially for someone like myself who has never had to deal with anything like this before they dealt with everything so professionally and kept me up to date with every stage and helped me feel at ease knowing my dad was in great hands and being handled well on his final journey. A massive thank you to the team you really are such a great company and would highly recommend their service

Brilliant from the moment I rang to say my mam had passed away. We have used Pure Cremations 3 times now for my family and they have always treated us with sympathy and respect. Great work. Thank you

Pure Cremation was very nice to me and my family and I have recommended them to my friends and one of them is going to get in touch with you to arrange his own funeral and his name is Bill Maultrie and he was our next door neighbour.

On the whole the service was good although when I phoned for advice I was informed it was documented in the pack, as a bereaved relative I had so much to sort out and to be honest I didn’t want to read the information pack I was grieving for my mum. I spoke to someone regarding the delivery of my mums ashes as I was due back to work the day I should’ve received the ashes I wanted to give an alternative address. I was informed that my Mum was already out for delivery ( which was untrue) when asked if she could contact the driver I was informed that they were all volunteers and she did not have their phone numbers , which I found odd as any company should have employees phone numbers volunteers or not. I phoned again 2 days after my mum should have been delivered to me and spoke to the manager of the crematorium who informed me that my mum was still there, I also spoke to a driver these two gentlemen were amazing and actually filled me with hope that the company does actually know what they are doing up until this point I was beginning to wonder. Paul the driver took an alternative address down for me and explained fully the process of his job, as did Steve the crematorium manager( I think) If it wasn’t for the lady who answered the phone to me that day I am sure I would still be waiting for my mum to come home. My mum thought she was doing the right thing by arranging this at times I’m not so sure

Thank you for your frank comments. We sincerely apologise for the confusion about the return of your mother's ashes. This was the result of a well-intentioned effort to reduce the ashes return time for families by temporarily re-deploying staff from a different part of our business, and the recruitment of additional staff to handle incoming calls. Unfortunately, in a few cases, unfamiliarity with our systems and processes affected the quality of both our communication and administration. We are very sorry that you were affected. We swiftly returned to the exclusive use of our specialist personnel to manage client arrangements and we are pleased to report that our call reception team are now fully up to speed. It is good to hear how our most experienced specialists, Paul and Steve, helped ensure that Mum was brought safely home to you, which we hope has brought you comfort.

I'm grateful to Pure Cremations, for the excellent service provided when my husband passed away. Everyone was so helpful and courteous when I made contact with them. The young men who collected my late husband were thoughtful and kind. Everything went smoothly and I was kept informed throughout the whole time. I can't thank them enough.

My father passed away on Friday 3rd December and had arranged and pre-paid his plan with you. From the start, my experience with Pure Cremation has been awful. Firstly, my husband contacted Pure Cremation to advise on my father's passing. However, I tried to contact Pure Cremation Ltd a few days later, as had not heard anything from either Pure Cremation or the hospital about the collection of dad's body. When I rang, they said that they would not speak to me, as my husband was the one who contacted them, even though my Dad had put me as next of Kin. The communication has been very poor. I have had one phone call to advise that they could bring my Dad's cremation forward to 2 January 2022, which was fine and then the "Ashes" team would be in touch to arrange the delivery of my Dad's ashes. I received an email to say that this would be within 3 weeks. I had to chase by email to see what was happening on Thursday 20 January as I had not heard from anyone. I received an email to say it would be chased up. Finally I received a call on Monday I believe to say would be delivered Tuesday. I am extremely disappointed, as I feel we have had to chase for everything, during this really difficult time, I would certainly not recommend your services, as I feel that the whole experience has been extremely distressing and stressful. Also, I was extremely disappointed with the packaging that my Dad's ashes have been sent in. I would have expected a nice ornate urn, but to be honest it looks more like a washing powder box delivered in a shopping bag.

Our team is expected to support the bereaved with timely updates and please be assured that I will ensure that the management of your Dad's arrangements is reviewed so we can address the cause of this deviation from the expected standard of care. You will receive a separate personal response from us about this. In reply to your comments about the ashes container: we have carefully considered the container in which the ashes and identity disc are presented. Rather than opting for the traditional plastic 'sweet jar' or the more recent cardboard box that crematoria typically supply, we have selected a biodegradable container with a stunning photo wrapper (printed with vegetable inks) which is then placed into a soft cotton bag for its protection. We are always happy to place ashes into any suitable alternative container should the family send this to us. Yours sincerely Catherine Powell
