The Pod point home installation application process took a few weeks because I didn’t realise there are two grants for the home charge point, before I got the second grant the installation appointment couldn’t be scheduled. The appointment was a long wait about four weeks. The engineer did an excellent job on the day, half day installation but the Pod point customer service team took a few weeks too long to send the completion invoice and EIC for the EST grand claim. Overall it was long waiting experience, from the start to end about 10 to 12 weeks. If Pod point can apply the EST grant behalf the customer at the start and customer can download all the relevant paperwork online through customer’s account straight after completion date, it would be a better more efficient experience.

The process of supplying information was not great, and nothing could proceed without this information being supplied. Most of it was not necessary as when the electrician turned up we discussed the install within about 30 seconds and he got on with it. The electrician did a great job and the after support on a couple of technical issues was great. I was going to cancel the install due to the document and initial customer service experience, but please I stuck with POD Point.

The installation and installer were great, the big issue was the delay in contact and scheduling of appointment.

Set up, communications and general contact with PoPoint has been very good. Easy to communicate with them by return of email.

Had the initial scheduled fitting day changed at short notice which was frustrating. Then on the second scheduled fitting the installers tester did not work so he could not finish the installation, I was then left without a charger for another few days until the 3rd schedule then completed the testing and finish to install.

It feels like your business isn’t wanted at the start as successive hurdles are placed in front of you, “and one more thing…”. This was followed by silence for 2 or 3 weeks before I followed up to get an installation date. On installation day though, the person was on time, professional, and courteous. Couldn’t be happier with the installation or the product.

Initial installation was aborted due to "health and safety" concerns about the potential cable run from charger > car. This was despite the information being provided in advance of the visit. Meant another one was scheduled. Harry from PodPoint was helpful and efficient in getting it resolved. Not the end of the world but two visits feels unnecessary, and will be a blocker to people going electric. Outside of that, the engineer was courteous, kept us up to date and did the job (2nd time round!) well.

I had to get the dealership to chase my installation, but the actual installation was very good & I'm happy with the product

Delayed installation by at least 2 weeks. Didn’t get a quote for ducting. Got it privately done after wasting a further week. Installation was okay, not the tidiest. Had to ask for trimming of the ducting and plugging the drill holes. Charger works well.

My installation was not straightforward due to the DNO reporting my supply as looped when it was not. Up to the point of scheduling the installation Pod Point was great - with good, quick communications. The scheduling team was less communicative. I felt that the onus was on me to push things along with the DNO. Having taken this role I was being asked by Pod Point to pass them information - which is fine, but I then got nothing back from them. For instance, when I got the email from the DNO confirming that my supply was unlooped, I forwarded this straight to the scheduling team, only to have them chase me for 'official documents' from the DNO. In the end, I got the DNO to call Pod Point to sort this out. Even then I had to chase them to ensure that they were going ahead with my installation as I had no communications from them at all in this period. So I guess that the story is that up to the point of scheduling Pod Point are great and the installation was similarly good - but the bit in the middle is poor. If I had not been willing and able to take on the DNO comms I guess I would still be without a charge point.

It's the communication that lets down Pod Point - as many other people comment! People can live with delays etc if the communication is good, but this company fails terribly - don't answer emails / phone calls - nothing. I understand they are busy but arent we all. I hope the actual product is better than the communication. The installation company was very good and couldn't have been any better!

Installation forms are complicated for someone without electrical knowledge to complete, there is no possibility to complete the forms to allow for properties that require no bonding as pipework is all plastic. Having given a detailed explanation of what was required to do the install, pod point tried to do it an alternate way to make it easier and less costly to install, This was not possible due to routing issues, I therefore had to do this work myself and supply the hardware. Install engineer was great, however he ran into issues due to a faulty RCD that had been supplied by pod point.

I found the installation easy but the lead up very difficult with the questions and lead time with the installation booking

At the beginning, it appeared that no one understood that I was both disabled and working, so arrangements were made a couple of times when I was not around, which was silly! However, my installer, Murray, was professional, kind, respectful and caring, making me feel valued. I would give him more than 5 stars if I could.

Overall our experience with PodPoint was ok. The initial payment process was easy enough but we then had to chase for an installation date and communication wasn’t brilliant. In my opinion there should be someone employed to do an initial survey as it was quite painful at times and there were follow up questions which i knew were unnecessary. The engineer who turned up was ok but unfortunately we were left with a sour taste as he left all of his rubbish in the garage from the install and also left the board that attaches our consumer unit and electricity meter to the wall loose. I understand you’re a busy company but the whole experience had no polish and at £500 a pop when the engineer was doing 5 jobs in that day i’d expect more. Overall only ok.
