I wouldn't call Pod Point false, I would say they are misleading. They describe a hassle free process and then ask for money. Immediately after payment, if you are applying for a grant, the forms are produced. You have to wait for proof of delivery. I probably parted with my money 2 months before Pod Point lifted a finger. Eventually the car arrived before the installation happened, the documents I needed to receive the grant came 2 weeks before delivery. Pod point were quite quick to book the installation but communication could have been better, you get a installation date to approve but no confirmation email, no comms at all until the day in question when you hope someone turns up after 3 months of waiting. Everything worked out ok, the installation was fine, I didn't struggle to get by without a home charger, it just felt like a small franchise company run by a small team. Even this questionnaire doesn't appear to be Pod Point specific..

Getting going with the order was very good, but then doing the OLEV grant took a month and it turned out to be an issue with DocuSign. Once that was sorted I had to push a bit to get an install date. The installer was excellent. Very helpful and very professional.

on the original installation date the engineer called me at the end of the day to inform me that he would not be able to come. that was not an acceptable level of service. i should have been kept informed earlier in the day

I had conflicting advice from a number of individuals concerning the best options for me since purchasing a 2nd EV. I also had conflicting advice regarding what information was required regarding the OLEV grant form... but we got there in the end! I don't think that you should take payment until the Grant forms have been completed and a date for installation has been agreed. It has taken a month for the installation to take place. I was however delighted with the actual installation. The engineer was efficient, friendly, covid-secure and did a very neat job.

Communication regarding the fitting stopped for 2 weeks and I was not told what was happening. Thereafter there was confusion as to where the supply was to be connected. The end result is very satisfactory and I did receive a refund and an apology

Overall the pod point looks great, feels the right size and install was v easy. The onboarding process was not ideal and could be simplified and more accurate albeit the team did try and help to expedite things afterwards.

I note that the engineer broke seal on the meter but a new seal was not fitted.

Issues on the day of installation, first time trying to use the charger it failed and someone had to come back to it two days after installation. Also commissioning of unit done incorrectly so it did not work with the app until after the 2nd visit to get the charger actually working and charging. Still issues with the app though.

Dealing with the Draconian and heavy-handed business practices of PodPoint was taxing but once the project was passed over to their sub-contractor for installation all was well.

Took a few times to complete application form but seemed smooth enough. My issues were AM appointment which turned into a 3pm. Engineer then left with meter key and left the box open in the wind

Not connected yet awaiting earth bonding. Bit of a chaotic process as photos lost, time of day for installation communicated incorrectly. Luckily I was at home, installer was very efficient and helpful.

Original time slot was fine but then had to go back to SSEN for final confirmation that property was suitable. Second time slot ( wasted my whole day waiting for installer and having emailed 3 times and had no reply not impressed) when finally contacted on phone( very long wait and process) rearranged new time slot, all then went very well.

Mostly good experience! Almost had installation delayed because (as it turns out) the installer's tester was defective - it kept tripping our house RCD and the installer said we'd have to get an electrician round to do a "full inspection" to find the problem. Fortunately we were able to get someone round while he was still here who did the tests without a problem and he could complete the install.
