The initial remote survey process was frustrating and slow . I submited videos and pictues but a short phone call later could have resolved things MUCH quicker ( process took a few weeks back and forth ) or a quick visit ( which eventualy pod point did ) The person who came to install was ,efficent , knowledgeable AND excellent . Pleased with this part of the process

The overall installation ran fine. Was very surprised that the installer decided to run the cabling right across my roughcast to the charger and not underneath as it is a massive eyesore. Clearly misunderstood what I asked but amazed someone would think it a suitable way to install in any case. Ideally would like someone to look at reinstalling this.

Simon installed our home charger friendly and professional provided a great service. Online application process painful. Why ask for info and photos when they are not passed on to the installer?

Dealing with the staff to arrange it was a bit of a faff, re having to do the Surveys yourself, then the allowance re Routing the Cable & protection was a bit mean, Had to do most of it myself, Cant see why your installers/Sparks cant do it. Your Electrician on the Day was Magic, Lovely Guy,

Our house wiring is from the early 70s (i.e. about 50 years old), which probably means this review may not be relevant to those of you with new homes or living in renovated properties that have recently been re-wired. Three main issues that we needed sorting out beforehand, which was not immediately obvious when I read the Pod Point blurb. 1. You MUST have a smartmeter installed (preferably the latest 'SMETS 2' device) 2. The main board should have at least an 80A and preferably a 100A fuse. This will require the local network distributor (not your electricity supplier) to make a site visit and determine if it's possible to uprate the fuse and maybe also the electrical tails (the thick copper wires). This is usually free of charge, but can take a month (yes!) to arrange an appointment. 3. If you want to connect your Pod Point to the smartphone app and for its initial installation, it will need to be connected to your WiFi network. So we had to install a WiFi extender (booster) at the front of the house to fix connection issues. 4. The first Pod Point installer (contracted from EDF) simply told us what needed fixing without writing down what was required and why. So we had to contact Pod Point to send us an e-mail listing what needed to be done. One of the odd things they said we needed to do was to have earth bonding to the mains water pipe...when this was an MDPE pipe (the blue plastic one)! Even the electrician we commissioned to make the earth bonds was scratching his head, figuring why a bond was required to non-conductive material. I think we started the process in mid-Oct 2021 and we finally got the Pod Point installed in mid-Feb 2022, some four months later. So if you're thinking you can get a PP fixed by the 31st March deadline to be eligible for the £300 Home Charge goverment grant...forget it! The only good thing was that both the smart meter installer from BG and the PP installer were both first rate and took great pride in their work.

My experience with Podpoint started well but due to a few no show installation dates and quite a few delays some due to Covid I've had to drop my rating. The company in general I think is pretty decent Although I've been unlucky

It took a long time to resolve all the issues via on- line It could all have been sorted out in about 20 minutes had a surveyor paid a visit, the covid risk was negligible, other trades managed inside never mind an entirely external survey.

Laborious process with everything done by email. Some requests were not clear. The process was frustrating to complete.

Initial experience with ordering and getting olev sorted was good, then things took a downturn with no contact from them regarding an installation date. It was not until I contacted them by phone that I received a date for two months after my chasing. I was expecting an original date to have been in November 2021 going by their web site, but it took until January 2022 so disappointing on that front, on the actual device very pleased also with the actual installation, very good service.

Charger fitted without issue, although some mess left with off-cut cables on the ground & lawn. I Ordered a lock for the pod point which has still not been delivered as I have not received an updated appointment date since postponing the last one that was eventually offered after I had to contact for an update

Unfortunately the installation engineer accidentally drilled through our main electricity cable to our property and we were left without power for 10 hours.

I found the process for the application of the home charging unit very poor. Although it was explained that photographs were required before completing the application and that it was not possible to store the application once started; there were stages in the process where additional photographs were required which had not been previously mentioned. I had to start the application process 3 times before completing.

The ordering process took far to long, with repeated demands for information that had previously been submitted.I had to ask Snows the local Peugeot dealer for assistance.

Initial contact taking me through steps was great. Installation happened on time without a hitch. Follow-up communication non-existent. I require a receipt to allow me to claim back from the EST grant. As of writing 3 emails requesting this have gone ignored.

But, no confirmation that installation that day so anxious. Still awaiting 15m cable as not given to installer to bring. Why not? Nor sent to me. Why so slow? It's been paid for!

Good product, EDF installers were great, don't like paying the total cost up front

The process was very drawn out with minimal contact from pod point and you can only contact them through email. The install went smoothly when I finally got it installed, but they need to work on there customer service.

Quick service but installer left debris behind without clearing up. I saw a Hoover in the van which didn't seem to be used. My electrician present on the day seemed to think the installation was in favour of the installer not the client. Overall satisfactied so far.
