“The order arrived in good time . However the new tray for my wormery is slightly different to the ones I purchased with the original kit (which may have not been from you) so does quite fit together with the existing trays . I probably can modify if though. Thanks”

“I like the overall look and size of this bin, it fits perfectly in a corner of our garden and has adequate capacity of all our garden and kitchen waste. It was delivered in good time. However this is an expensive compost bin and the description refers to the quality of the wood etc. In fact the lid is very poorly put together and many of the wooden slats that make up the sides of the bin are split. The slotted modules makes it sound as if the slats can be moved up and down and removed easily to make turning and digging out the compost easier, which they can't. I think the description could be more accurate so as not to mislead potential purchasers on this count. Due to the size of this product, once it is assembled there is a disincentive to return it. I think given the quality of the pieces of wood I received and the fact the lid is just resting on top and doesn't fit into the bin, it is over-priced.”

“Took a while for the wormer to arrive and compared to the online video of the organics Md him self all my packaging was a quarter of the size as per his video. So I had to do my own research on set up and using wormery and since ordered some extra worms from another supplier.”

“Some items were missed from the order. They were sent later. The delivery takes long time - approx. a week. No info during ordering highlighting this.”

“Delivery & product were excellent. But the packaging was polystyrene chips which my Council doesn't recycle. I am sure you could come up with environmentally friendly packaging.”

“Ordering from the website was no problem, and the delivery was good and well packaged, however I was quite annoyed at having to pay a ‘standard’ fee for postage which was expensive at nearly £6. Buying £10 of worms is bad enough, but the postage for a Jiffy bag and 2nd class postage was very expensive.”

We have a flat £5.99 delivery to make it easier for customers which means even if you ordered one of our largest water butts, you’d still only be paying a £5.99 delivery charge. With regards to the worms, we are one of the cheapest on the market even with the delivery charge included as some of our competitors charge up to £24.99 excluding delivery. “I purchased 2 X packs of Nemaslug not realising that there was such a short shelf life on them. The plan was to use the second pack after 6weeks when the first application ceased to be effective. I have had to give away the second pack as it expires in 24days time. A very expensive purchase. I hope my pack works. I wish it had been explained very clearly on your page.”

“Very slow to send out orders and no replies to emails. When I phoned to find out what had happened to my order after about 5 days I was told it had been delayed because somebody had been on holiday for a couple of days but they also couldn't tell me exactly when it would be sent out because they were stock taking and didn't know when that would be completed. Won't be ordering from them again but saying that I do like the Gutter Mate rainwater diverter.”

“More updates on the delivery time would be nice as I heard nothing for quite a few weeks until I emailed.”

“The basic construction is sound, but it was obviously assembled in a slip shod manner with the top unit hinged on the wrong side so the back of the top unit faces the front, and does not match the construction detail of the main body. The overall effect is not nearly as attractive as was the one I bought ten years ago for our previous garden. It will do the job but the point of the beehive type is that it should also be visually attractive. So dissapointed.”

“Well the wormery is very nice and sturdy. I love the way they come in funky colours and that you can get your worms later. The website is clear and easy to use. However, the prices on the home page do not include VAT. So my wormery appeared to be £55.90 (inc worm voucher) on the product page. But, by the time I checked out it had increased to £61.85 because of added carriage and VAT. When I complained that the prices should clearly state whether or not they include VAT from the start, I was fobbed off with a patronising statement about the law - which I am quite clear about thank you! I was disappointed that they didn't take my complaint seriously.”

Dear Nina, Thank you for your purchase. We are very happy that you love the product and the 'funky' colours that are available. With regards to the home page / product page. It is a legal requirement in the UK that all retail websites show the price of a product including VAT. Therefore, it is not possible for us to advertise a product to the public without VAT. What you perceived as VAT was infact carriage/shipping. All non free delivery e-commerce websites will add the shipping cost at checkout. This is normal. We are sorry that you felt that we did not take your complaint seriously and maybe we should have communicated better. Thanks again for your comments and your custom.

“They have a very wide selection of products. However I was disappointed that I had to ring to find out when my purchases would be delivered. (there was no tracking) There are no instructions included with the guttermate just a sheet of paper referring you to the website or a telephone number which I thought was cheapskate. The clips that fasten the lids on my butts are useless - I will have to manufacture a replacement.”

“I am happy with the product. It seems to be good quality. When I purchased online pop-ups kept disturbing the purchase and it took a long time to confirm the pruchase. My debit card details went onto one of the pop-up sites and the debit card was hacked as a result. The purchase was confirmed via email but I was not informed that it would take longer to supply the item as it was posted from the manufacturer directly. I rang your helpdesk and the ladies were very friendly and explained things. This was a very good experience. I can't fit the item as yet, as the hose supplied is too short and the hoses you offer online are still a little to short for my purpose. I find it difficult to get a right size hose local. I would like to order another one or two products, but the online purchase is not trustable. I will wait until I get the one I have working and I am thinking of ringing the helpdesk direct to order.”

“While the product itself is of good quality & functioning well; the customer service via email is absymal. None of my emails were answered at all. I had to phone Gutter Mate to chase for any sort of answer (non-delivery of product & no reason given) a couple of times. On the phone the staff were friendly, helpful and accurate. But really, emails should be responded to in the same manner, not ignored completely. In summary - good products; ropey customer service.”

“The company are slow to respond if the item isn't in stock. The website didn't flag up an issue and it was only when I rang up because the worm farm was taking ages to arrive that I was told they had sold out in the colour I had ordered. If I hadn't rung I might still be waiting. In the event I asked about other choices and chose a bright yellow one of the two colours remaining, again I had to ask about this option. Happy with the item now it's here.”

“THE WATER BUT IS VERY GOOD, IT LOOKS NICE AND BEING SLENDER FITTED SNUGLY INTO A RESTRICTED SPACE. SHAME ABOUT THE PLASTIC BUNGS SUPPLIED FOR EACH SIDE THOUGH AS THEY BOTH SPLIT, CAUSING THEM BOTH TO LEAK. MY HUSBAND REPLACED THEM WITH MORE SUBSTANTIAL BRASS SEALS. THE TELEPHONE STAFF WERE EXCELLENT.”

“I would like to know why the plastic pipe from the diverter to to the tank is clear. This has caused terrible problems with algae growing in the pipe due to sunlight, therefore constant cleaning and refitting pipe. Does this have to be clear pipe,or is it just for visual purposes?”

“I am very happy with the products that I received, but I would never order anything which had to be delivered by YODEL ever again. The local delivery person was great, but delivery was not easy. I object to having to pay to speak to a real person and there really was no other way to find out what was happening to my parcel. I phoned Gutter Mate and just by coincidence the parcel was delivered that day ...... and just by coincidence I happened to be in all day so that I could receive it. by the way it is only YODEL that I am unhappy with and not Gutter Mate or the bloke who delivered parcel.”
