“What a fantastic location for a weekend away. we stayed in the Malvern Suite which was actually an upgrade and such a lovely surprise. The suite was breathtaking - so beautifully decorated and such a treat. It was located in the 'brides' quarters which I presume is hired out to wedding parties - as such we pretty much had a whole Manor House to what felt like just ourselves even though there were other people staying in other sections of the manor. It was very peaceful and just so beautifully finished with all the period features and decor. It felt like stepping back in time. Apart from a huge amount of dead flies along the window ledge and on the floor and under the bed, I genuinely couldn't fault the room. I would have expected the flies to have been cleaned up before we arrived, my thoughts were that perhaps the room hadn't had guests for a little while and the flies had made their way in, in the meantime. A last check over of the room could have been done before our arrival. As part of our package, dinner and breakfast was included. The food at dinner really was cooked well - there was a very limited menu to choose from but that was just the set menu as part of the package so I can understand why there wouldn't be a huge choice. The portions were on the small side, but the food was delicious. The only thing to let down the experience was the service. Once we had been served our main course, we were essentially forgotten about, and what felt like perhaps 45/ 50 minutes after finishing, we had to ask if we could see the menu for pudding. Again we were forgotten about and the effort to order dessert and the time it took to arrive, tainted the experience a bit. We were meant to receive coffee and petitfours but it seemed like too much effort to try and find someone to remind, so in the end we gave up. After waiting for a long time for someone to acknowledge us and bring the bill, we decided just to leave and go back to the room. At that stage someone was very quick to run after us to ensure we paid for our additional wine, which we wanted on our tab anyway. For what was a delicious dinner in a fab location, the service really did let it down. Breakfast was also along a similar line - a perfectly reasonable cooked breakfast buffet but no cutlery on the table, no one to greet us or explain what to do, no plates, and a lot of the food had run out and had not been replaced. There was a long queue for the eggs which I gave up on. A member of staff kindly offered to do our toast for us at the machine - but then never brought it over to us. This location was stunning and had such an amazing feeling about it. Apart from the bad service, I really couldn't fault any other part of our stay, and would definitely return, in the hope that the staff had improved.”

“Fantastic place to stay, the staff are great and food even better! Spa very relaxing and very clean, I love driving up the drive knowing I am going to be pampered for a couple of days. Just go!”

“Have used Off Peak on several occasions. They remember my previous bookings and make suggestions to accommodate our old age requirements. The offers are all genuine bargains . We recently stayed at the Black Swan in Helmsley, had a free cream tea and a bedroom upgrade.. .....excellent.”

“The website was very frustrating- we wanted a weekend break but couldn't arrange this through the main website. When we tried to go through the weekend booking site it wouldn't allow us access. However, I emailed to ask for help & the response was fantastic, I received links to the available hotels & Lucy & Victoria sorted everything out for me, they were excellent but the websites were impossible.”

We have over 200 hotels across all our websites, many of which offer weekend packages. Our weekend site has not been in use for some time and will now divert customers to offpeakluxury.com. We are pleased to hear that you were happy with the way the matter was resolved.

“Lovely hotel and spa treatments however was sold a deal which included breakfast in bed, and 100 pound worth of dining vouchers. Upon arriving to the hotel was told that the breakfast was to be debited from the vouchers. I tried to sort this situation out with the hotel directly, however they advised me to speak to yourselves I will contact you further to seek reimbursement.”

“I always turn to the OPL website when we are planning a break. The site is out easy to use providing a good choice of hotels in a given area. The offers for each hotel are clearly laid out. Importantly, one is not hassled by pop ups telling you so many people are looking at this hotel and so many people have booked within the last hour. I hate that!”
