Had major problems with my booking. 2 nights for two people needing two rooms. By sheer chance, when making dinner reservations, we found that only one room had been booked. I had paid, in full, for two rooms and would have been very upset upon arrival to learn that only one had been reserved. Both OPL and the hotel (Brudenell, Suffolk) referred to a ‘glitch in the system‘ and neither apologised, which would have been nice. Both seemed to think that all was fine as the booking has now been sorted out, with no awareness of the calls I have made trying to sort it out - hanging on for at least ten minutes with the hotel etc. I have had to phone the Brudenell again just now to double check that the booking is correct. I also had to ask OPL to confirm the corrected booking by email. Surely this should be standard practice? Not very impressed, although the staff were friendly.

Regarding the revised confirmation it is common practice to issue these after an amendment has taken place so I'm sorry it was necessary for you to contact us and request this. It is difficult to rate Offpeakluxury as the service we received from you appeared good however when we arrived at the hotel they had no record of our booking. They said that it was your fault. We had to show our booking confirmation which we fortunately had with us. Plus the hotel was advertised as having spa facilities - whilst we expected these to be limited we did expect them to be open as there was no indication to contrary. It was only when we got into the room that we discovered the spa was completely closed. Very disappointing given the price we had paid.

Your reservation was acknowledged and confirmed by the hotel shortly after it was made and subsequently your hotel confirmation was emailed to you. It is not possible for you to be in receipt of your confirmation without the hotel confirming your booking. We must apologise on their behalf and will contact them to make sure the same mistake does not happen again. There is a Coronavirus information pack available on our website for each hotel. The information is either provided by the hotel or if we are not in receipt of their pack there is some general information which we hope will assist our guests. This also includes the closure of any facilities if we have been made aware. For Kenwood Hall it states that the opening date of the pool and spa is to be confirmed. I'm sorry the spa was not available however I hope you still had an enjoyable stay. Kind regards Offpeakluxury

The hotel was expecting us and we were made to feel welcome however when my husband tried to check out they were insistent that we hadn't paid anything despite me paying you in full. My husband had to fetch me from the car to show them the email stating that we had paid. I sent it to them before they were happy. It was a very embarrassing experience especially as the reception was beginning to get busy.

At this hotel, the Roseate Villa Hotel, it was not at all clear what the added value is of the more expensive rooms apart from the view from the window.

I was a bit disappointed to see the hotels website had a room plus breakfast at a better rate . Even taking off the £60 meal credit and cost of two drinks it was still slightly cheaper. So not such a special deal after all.

Err...surely you'd rather hear of 'unhappy' so that you can correct things and improve? Anyway, the website was fine except that for Eshott House there was a special offer for 2 nights which we wanted to take advantage of. Living in Essex, a journey to Northumberland is not worth a 2-night stay; we wanted to book two consecutive stays of 2 nights each. We weren't even sure if this was allowable in the terms of the special deal. There was no way on the website of booking what we wanted. We had to book and pay for one two-night stay first before we could find out if we were able to book the second. Obviously, if we couldn't, we would not have wanted the first booking (which could not be cancelled), placing us between the devil and the deep blue sea. In the end we had to phone to ask if it would work (it did) which rather made the whole website experience redundant.

The special offers we advertise through The Telegraph are for a set number of nights (in this case two) so in order to ensure that the same room can be allocated for a 4 night stay it would be necessary for us to speak with the hotel on your behalf. Good selection no hidden extras easy to navigate made selection easy. I was very surprised to see your booking fee attached to my final bill sorry to say unlike the hotel information this was I feel hidden

We have booked to stay at Bodysgallen hall. When looking online your deal came up, which sounded good. However I was not aware that the deal was through anyone other than Bodysgallen hall themselves. Nor was I informed anywhere that it would incur a £10 booking fee, which did annoy me.

When making a reservation the price is displayed with an arrow alongside and when clicked on it gives you a clear breakdown. We are confident that our packages, including the booking fee, offer the best value for money which is why the Price Match Guarantee is in place. I understand our reservations team got in touch shortly after your booking was made to arrange a table for dinner. This is to ensure you have a table reserved at your preferred time and again is something other agents rarely offer. It is not possible to be diverted from a hotel's website to ours and when viewing our website our company name, Offpeakluxury, is clearly displayed on every page. We booked a hotel through Offpeakluxury paying more than we would going directly to the hotel. We did this in order to gain certain extras, one of which was £50 worth of discount vouchers for massages. The hotel told us that we should book the massages at least a month in advance, so we never benefited from them.

After a problem on line I had to phone to complete the booking as your operator thought there was a problem with the web page. She dealt with the transaction very quickly.

Fairly good result but a very cumbersome booking process Had to be referred to the hotel before confirmation and then we found out that only one superior room was available so we had to settle for lesser accommodation for the other two we thought we had booked

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your review. As the three rooms you needed for your stay at Tewkesbury Park were showing on a provisional basis, we needed to await confirmation from the hotel. Sadly they did not have three rooms of the type on which our packages are based, so advised us which rooms they were able to offer. We asked the hotel to hold the available rooms for you before we contacted you to let you know about the room types – we also found alternative hotels to offer in case the room types were not suitable for you.
