We are a little disappointed. We entered our voucher code & accessed the availability calendar, selected a date and booked time off work. We were later contacted to say we would need to change our date or pay an additional £40 for a superior room. We would have expected only available dates that corresponded with our voucher code would have been displayed.

Thank you for your feedback. The date you selected for the hotel package included in your voucher was provisionally available rather than instantly available. For this type of booking it is necessary to wait for a response from the hotel before it can be confirmed. This would have shown on the booking page when the date was selected, again when the booking had been made and then on the initial confirmation emailed to you. Shortly after the reservation had been made the hotel advised us that they only had rooms of a higher category available so you were given the option to either pay to upgrade to another room type or book an alternative date. We called you to discuss the options and you decided to upgrade. We were not made aware at any point that you were dissatisfied with the process or the outcome. Good website, fairly easy to use. Unhappy though that when I asked for a VAT receipt I was emailed back to say I couldn't have one until I checked out of the hotel in December. I have paid in advance, VAT receipt now please!

We appreciate you have paid in advance for your hotel reservation however the VAT invoice is issued shortly after your stay as the tax point is the checkout date and we do have flexible cancellation and postpone terms. We are sorry if this was not made clear when your request was made. We will arrange for a VAT receipt to be emailed to you today and should you cancel or amend your booking prior to arrival we will amend this if necessary. Will not know if all ok until have stayed at hotel. Regards booking process, it was easy and seemingly hassle free. However payed monies for booking then found out it was only provisional as Offpeak then had to make the booking subject to availability ?. The booking took place but assumed when paying it was direct confirmation of booking, not having to await confirmation of room etc.

Dear Kenny, Thank you for your review of Offpeakluxury. We have 2 types of availability - Instant Availability, in which payment is taken and confirmation is received immediately, and Provisional Availability, in which funds are held pending a successful reservation and acceptance is needed from the hotel. Your reservation was made on Provisional Availability, which shows the following message at the beginning of the booking process: * Offers showing provisional availability are subject to confirmation with the hotel and availability is not guaranteed. No funds will be taken from your card until the booking is confirmed, which will usually be within a few hours. Upon completing your reservation request, you will have also received an email which re-affirms that we need to await confirmation from the hotel, and that your reservation was not yet confirmed. We are always happy to check availability with your chosen hotel before you go ahead with a reservation on Provisional Availability; please just give us a call or send us an email and we will get back to you. The first couple of times I tried to make a booking (using a voucher) the web site did not seem to be working correctly and would not advance from page 1. Although my chosen dates were available according to the calendar popup another message appeared which stopped further input. When I clicked on "something not right click here" I was sent to main booking page which I could not use with voucher. However, despite the above I did eventually get to make booking, although my first choice dates were by then gone. So we are now booked for end July and look forward to our break. This is just my booking experience, have not yet had hotel stay!

Due to alterations in our package, after full payment was made months ago, and was given a twelve month period in which to make a booking. We only found out at time of booking dates, that the offer was no longer available. There was no mention at the time of booking, that there could be a change to our package. We feel disappointed that a change of accommodation has had to be made, and cost us more money, for a break that is not of the same standard.

Thank you for your review, although I am sorry that you feel disappointed. I must explain that you purchased a hotel break gift voucher, which is indeed valid for 12 months, however the negotiated offers which we have with the hotels in our portfolio are subject to availability, as is detailed on your voucher. Unfortunately, when you had chosen a date to book your hotel stay for, the offer detailed in the voucher had been changed. We asked the hotel if they were able to offer the original package, but unfortunately they could not. The full value of your voucher can be used towards a stay at any hotel and on any package on our website should the original offer no longer be available, as was the case with the voucher you purchased. In order to complete a purchase, a box must be checked to confirm that the Terms & Conditions of our website have been read and understood; these are reiterated on the voucher itself. We found the hotel through Off Peak Luxury and the booking was fairly straightforward. However, on hindsight, we would have paid much less if we'd booked directly with the hotel or another 3rd party website. We didn't receive our glass of Prosecco on arrival but didn't make a fuss as were told the dinner allowance at the hotel was £40pp so we thought there may have been a discrepancy with an out of date offer. 10% off spa facilities was not exclusive to Off Peak Luxury customers but available to anyone who books into the hotel as a guest. Once we received the bill at the end we did mention the prosecco and the hotel kindly took the cost of this off our bill. Apparently, they didn't know about it and we had to show our booking form from you to prove that we'd already paid the amount that we had. It might be that because we'd booked late, messages hadn't got through. The stay at the hotel was delightful but in future we'll do more homework before booking with a 3rd party company. Thank you for introducing us to the hotel and its chain.

Firstly we would like to thank you for your feedback. We have looked into the pricing on the hotel's website and can see they have a slightly lower rate available for the month of January based on dinner, bed and breakfast in an executive room however our package is available all year-round and includes a glass of Prosecco on arrival together with a 1 pm late check-out. It is disappointing to read that the Prosecco was not received which we will raise with the hotel. We are pleased to hear you found the booking process straightforward and do hope to welcome you back should you wish to stay at another of the hotels in our portfolio.

The process is not seamless. Off-peak luxury has to check with the hotel and then come back to me. Plus the discount is not that much. It's not real time.

Bought for my wife's birthday couple months in advance after she enquired and said it's what she wanted. For some unknown reason they emailed her to tell her that I had booked it. Surprise ruined. Totally fuming as it wasn't cheap

Your wife contacted us regarding the hotel break and following communication by email, from her email address, she requested that we call you to make the reservation which we did. After doing so we informed your wife that her request had been carried out. We were not aware that this was a surprise.
