“Had hotel booked (and separately spa day for the wife directly with hotel) paid for and confirmed. I even printed everything off as requested to give to the hotel. Next day got a phone call to say there had been an error so the booking was cancelled - had to then get the spa day cancelled. Managed to get another booking in a different hotel but they were fully booked in the spa - so now 1 p***ed off wife.”

Dear Mr Moir, As explained at the time, unfortunately we experienced a rare system error which meant your booking could not be honoured by the hotel as they were fully booked. We contacted you as soon as we were made aware of this and searched for an alternative hotel on your behalf. We also offered to check availability of spa treatments at each one. Of course the other option was a full refund. You decided to book one of the alternative hotels and as we had removed the booking fee a small refund was made. Again we offered to check spa availability however you declined. Sadly these situations do happen, though thankfully not very often, and we feel we did everything we possibly could to resolve the matter to your satisfaction. Kind regards Offpeakluxury

“The hotel was expecting us and we were made to feel welcome however when my husband tried to check out they were insistent that we hadn't paid anything despite me paying you in full. My husband had to fetch me from the car to show them the email stating that we had paid. I sent it to them before they were happy. It was a very embarrassing experience especially as the reception was beginning to get busy.”
