“I have not picked any of the surveyors because of the barrage of phone response that I get absolutely fed up of them. They should have waited until we pick those we want to contact or email us instead of all the nuisance phone calls.”

“I was quoted £390.00 estimate for a Homebuyers report for my three bedroom house by The Residential Consultancy through this site. However once I contacted them they said it would actually be £590 excluding VAT. I don't understand how the estimate was so inaccurate - since in terms of square footage and type of house my house is pretty typical. It seems like a cynical way to attract enquirers. Use other comparison sites as the difference between estimate and quote is negligible.”

Hi, Thanks for letting us know about this. We ask all of the people on our website to make sure that the prices they list are as close as possible to the prices they actually charge. We will speak to the Residential Consultancy about this, and ask them to revise their prices accordingly.

“Know one new the workings of an electric fence. the business names you sent me said, we have never worked on an electric fence or did not reply to my calls. I am afraid most did not reply to my calls.”

“The local surveyor tool does not allow to add outbuildings. So the quotes are inaccurate or the surveyors refuse to do certain parts. Also some surveyors have advise on the repair costs and a valuation included in the full structural survey, but this cannot be seen or compared beforehand.”

Hi, the prices given are estimates based on the information entered into our enquiry form. Unfortunately these cannot take account of any specific requirements and so we would always recommend you contact the Surveyors directly to get a more accurate price.

“Since doing a search to find some quotes I've been bombarded with sales calls and emails. Within 10 minutes I had 6 missed calls and 4 voicemails. Maybe work is scarce in the surveying industry?! Nevertheless, this was overkill as all I wanted was an idea on prices which the simple web search gave me.”

Hi - we are very sorry to say we did suffer a security breach of our website, wbhich resulted in some email addresses being captured. No other data was taken. Our security team have since found and repaired the breach. We took the decision to email everyone that had been affected by this breach, to make them aware of the situation. Usually we only use our Customers' email addresses to send them details of local Suppliers, and then to request Feedback - but in this case we felt that it was important that we let people know what happened and the potential consequences of this. Please accept our apologies for this.

“I ended up using Your Survey, they were absolutely hopeless. Had to chase them up loads of times and they underpaid the postage on the survey. So I had to go 2.5 miles out of my way to pick it up”

“Very unhappy with being emailed and called by most of the companies you recommended. I'm sure this is in the T's and C's but I suggest you put this prominently in the text of the process. Hope this helps ben”

“You shared my details with everyone on your list so I received unsolicited approaches. Deplorable but I suppose that's what they pay you a fee for. Won't be using you again. The two stars are because the firm of MY choice gave a good service.”

“Having had the list of those suppliers, I made efforts to contact them but had no success in getting a response. I think the Local Surveyors Direct don't have a wider membership to be able to offer the users of their website a credible service.”

“Used website to find details where I could then contact a suitable choice. There were some good options here but I was inundated with phone calls and emails from independent surveyors afterwards. I didnt use the site to be subject to cold calling. Get too much of this already! On the positive side I did identify a surveyer from your list and their price, althoug not quite what you were quoting, was still good.”

“I cam to this website, as I am planning an extensions and needed architectural services. It appealed to me, as I was informed their service would find local companies who would be able to help. I live in Reading, Berkshire, but was sent details of only 1 company based in Southampton! I was told they would call, (they didn't), but they probably didn't want to come all the way here, when I was after someone with an understanding of local planning regulations. They may know about Southampton, but I don't live there! Think I'll stick to the yellow Pages in future...”
