“Yes they will list you a surveyor. They will also sell your e mail and phone number to quite a list, so you will be bombarded with calls and emailsfrom conveyancers, mortgage brokers for quite a few days. Never use them again”

“Two of the five quotes were inaccurate. Possibly under pricing to obtain the work. Unique Solicitors quoted stamp duty around £3,500 less than it should be. Bespoke Law Services Quote not only had the stamp duty wrong they made gross errors when showing VAT payable. Again less than it actually was. If these are the kind of conveyancers you have on your books for quotes I would rather look elsewhere.”

“on the day we moved in, towels wrapped around stop cock under kitchen sink highlighted major leak. When stop cock turned on water flooded kitchen floor and cupboards under sink. Neither cistern worked, Three faulty taps (one in kitchen - which must have been leaking for months) two bathroom taps leaking needed replacing. For the first week to ten days plumbing was unusable - repairs and replacement taps cost us in excess of £300!! Electric ceramic hob not working - cost us £230 to replace. Whilst we recognise that the hob could have blown at any time, our plumber highlighted the fact that there was obvious long term interior water damage to the kitchen units. Surely the surveyor would have spotted this if she / he had opened the cupboard door!!!. Also she /he must have seen the leaking kitchen tap (unless the water had been deliberately turned off!!!!) With Christmas looming, we needed to carry out the repairs and had no time to make a formal complaint. Our solicitor had suggested claiming compensation from the surveyor whose report does not mention any such problems. I will also be sending a similar complaint to the commissioning company Goldcrest and would appreciate you forwarding a copy of this to them. Robert and Marlene Davies”
