I had a haircut done by Anne for the first time and, to be honest, had high expectations imagining getting into joyful Christmas period with a lovely haircut executed by the Master, but was disappointed hugely. The haircut didn't keep the shape even for a few weeks (...or should I say days?) after it was done. Anne hasn't thinned out my hair and it looked heavy and surprisingly .... unprofessionally done. The cut around my ears was untidy. I had to blow dry every time after washing trying to lift my hair up (usually I don't do blow drying and let my hair dry naturally) but it didn't help. What else to say? After a few weeks I had to go to a different hair salon to get another haircut. Totally unexpected outcome.

Not good. As a shorter customer the washing basins don't cater for me. Why not? There should be a satisfactory solution in place so that I can be comfortable whilst my hair is being washed, not perched on a folded up coat.

I went in for a single frunge cut and blow-dry. My fringe was cut far shorter than I asked for. The salon also has very little ventilation and smells terrible.

I have naturally curly hair and have had my hair cut three times by three different hairdressers at Anne Veck as I wanted to find the best hairdresser at the salon that could cut my curly hair. My last and most recent visit to the salon was with Anne herself. I felt that Anne's haircut was technically how my hair should have been cut, that is as she said ensuring that the layer to length ratio was correct. The previous haircuts at her salon had left my curls to grow long and drop out such that I found it difficult to style my hair. Whilst Anne's approach to cutting my hair ensured that most of the curls bounced back, she didn't actually cut my hair in a style that suited my face. Now I have a hairstyle that is the shape of a triangle and which does nothing for me. She also cut my hair too short as I like my hairstyle to be a bit longer. To summarise, Anne just gave me a standard hair cut for curly hair, but didn't ensure that she gave me a hairstyle that I liked. After having visited Anne's salon three times, this is the third time I have had my hair cut and am having difficulty styling it myself. I won't be visiting Anne's salon again.

I was disappointed. I came in with a shoulder-length bob cut which was uneven and messy at the back as it was growing out. I asked for a trim to even out the back so my hair would be less messy while asking for the few strands at the front to be a bit longer. I kept mentioning over and over again to please keep my hair as long as possible. The stylist decided to chop my hair by a massive chunk and turned it into a ridiculously short inverted bob which i never asked for. The haircut does not suit my face at all and now i get so upset every time i look into the mirror. I look aged and the cut looks like a puffy mushroom on my head, with my hair texture. Anne Veck is more expensive than other hairdressers i usually go to in Oxford hence i expected so much better services. Not respecting the client's wish is one thing, giving someone a haircut that looks bad on their face shape and hair texture is another thing. It took me ages to grow out my hair to this length - i was so excited about my hair for summer and now it will take me months to grow it out so it looks acceptable again. So disappointing...

I visited Anne Veck about a month ago to get a much needed trim. I explained what I wanted to Silvain, who was my hairdresser, and he did not listen to any of it. I had asked for a small trim but mainly to have layers cut shorter to give more volume to my hair. I have wavy/curly hair. He cut way more than I had asked for. He also thinned out my hair so much that there were tons of hair on the floor once he finished - something I had not asked for. I do not like having my hair thinned. He also used a razor to cut some of my hair, which doesn't work with my hair type because it frizzes it but he didn't bother to ask. Lastly, my hair is EXTREMELY uneven. On one side, the layers are longer and even (this side looks really good), while on the other they are shorter and so uneven (this one does not). I have random pieces that are very short and some long. Overall, I'm very unhappy with my haircut. I think that there are small things he could have done to give me a great haircut like being more careful with evenness, asking what I would prefer, and respecting what I asked for. I was about 5 minutes late to my appointment and maybe this impacted my experience at Anne Veck but I think that the time slots given are way too short to give a proper haircut anyway.

I booked a wash and cut, so the appointment should have only taken 30 mins. I was there for 1.5 hours! It was towards the end of the day and my hairdresser was running behind on their other previous client, but didn't convey by how long, or let me know this when I arrived. I had my hair washed and was left in the massage chair with wet hair for half an hour before it became apparent I still wasn't getting my hair cut very soon. They were apologetic, but didn't seem to appreciate that I had other plans that I wasn't able to change due to my expectations not being managed. I would have preferred to be told up front and given the option to do something else with my time. The hair cut itself was great, and they gave me advice on colour and a patch test, but I'm unsure if I'll go back now.

Kelly was absolutely amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. But I found the receptionist incredibly rude. My appt. was originally at 4, but I got a call asking if I could come in at 3:45 (which was totally fine by me). I got there at 3:50, and then I was told to sit down and wait for my appt. I waited for about 25 min. before someone came to wash my hair. While I was waiting, the receptionist made me extremely uncomfortable by staring at me in the mirror; she didn't come over to apologize for the wait, but she did scold me for canceling and rebooking my appt. She also walked over to Kelly at one moment and pointed at me while talking to her, which made me feel very awkward. I almost walked out. Overall, I loved Kelly and I love my new haircut, but I would not go back because of how uncomfortable I felt.

Unfortunately my hair was not what I had asked for it was longer on one side and my fringe was way to short very disappointed

Usually we'd invite you in to see if we can put this right for you but as your appointment was 7 weeks ago what I'd suggest is that you book again and we'll give you a super cut. Normally, as you can see from other reviews, Sylvain is the god of hairdressing, so maybe give him a second chance? Sorry again the cut wasn't what you wanted. Thanks Keith, Anne Veck Oxford.

Staff is very nice (hence two stars instead of one) but I wasn't happy with the result. I usually have the cut only option, but apparently my 4 months of growth due to lockdown meant that my wishes were a "restyle", doubling the usual price to £75 without really telling me first. I also did NOT get what I asked for. I specifically said I wanted the front longer, and walked out with the front SO MUCH shorter. My hairdresser was also half an hour late and I was left lying over the sink for about 25 minutes feeling forgotten, and in neck pain. Hair will grow out again, but I won't be back.

I visited Anne Veck Oxford on December 4 2020 for a haircut. The hairstylist (Sylvain) spent quite a lot of time with me. He gave me a good hair wash, haircut and an amazing final blow dry. I left the shop extremely pleased and with a big smile on my face. However, a couple of days later when I washed my hair at home I noticed the imperfections masked by the very professional blow dry. The right side of hair is slightly shorter than the left and there is strand of hair which appears longer that the rest of the hair, apparently it was missed during haircut. Both imperfections can be covered until I have another haircut but it's unacceptable especially when you pay £60.00. I gave 2 starts one for the pleasant environment at the hairsalon and the other for the nice finish.

love this salon and support its green mission- they are way ahead of other salons in how to be greener, cut down on plastic and energy. My last haircut was a disappointment. I shared a photo of the style I am 'growing towards' and just wanted a trim and shape. My hair was cut totally short and the hairdresser said he changed his mind,without consulting me first. I am debating whether I will go back.

I have visited Anne Veck since moving to Oxford more than two years ago, and generally have been happy with the service, but my latest visit - my first hair cut post-lockdown - was a huge disappointment and I felt the quality of the cut was very poor. It was only on getting home and looking in the mirror properly that I realised my hair - cut above the shoulders - was longer on one side than the other. The cut was incredibly poor, unprofessional and looked like no care had been taken. I received quite a poor response from the front desk when I called up to ask if I could return to the salon to have the cut fixed. I received no apology and was told they 'might' be able to fit me in. I was eventually offered a 15 minute slot the next day, which I attended. Marisa was lovely, and sorted out the cut as best she could. I think it is rather telling that I sat there for 20 minutes while she tried her best to sort out the length, blend the layers in properly (which were awful), and also fix the shape which she informed me was also different on each side. Not being able to see the back of my head I hadn't realised how bad the shaping was until it was pointed out. Ultimately I've waited four months for a much-needed hair cut and now I'm left embarrassed by it, wearing it up in a bobble and wearing hats until it grows out enough. I'm due to get married in October so I only hope it grows out enough by then. Thank you to Marisa for being so accommodating and sorting it out as best she can, it does look and feel better than the original cut, but I'm just really disappointed with my experience. I asked for a top stylist and got a very young stylist with an NVQ in hairdressing. As I am elderly I felt she was on a different planet. I don't trust Anne Veck's salon.

Firstly I have been a regular customer for about 20 plus years and have always been happy with my haircuts from a wonderful lady who has worked for Anne Veck for many years. I was very surprised with Anne's unprofessionalism, obviously they where understaffed and all you could hear whilst treating yourself to a haircut was Anne stressed out and waiting for her member of staff to come in who was travelling from Kidlington and was very late the atmosphere was very tense and unpleasant I couldn't wait to get out of the salon. I am very disappointed and I know its stressful when your waiting for late staff and understaffed but you do not show this to your clients and client who has been visiting your hair salon for over twenty years.

Very disappointed with the shape of the hair cut. It is choppy and doesnt lay down well. Didn't notice how bad it was at the time because my hair was currled and hair sprayed right after the cut.

My haircut was good but I was disappointed that the stylist didn't introduce herself or offer me a drink. She didn't seem at all interested in her job and it wasn't the experience that I normally have from visiting a hair salon. She didn't offer to straighten my hair and just left it after blow-drying with no offer of products either.

I was very disappointed with both my hair cut and the customer service. Needless to say I will not be going back and I will definitely not recommend Anne Veck to any of my friend's.

Had a GoTry voucher but after 2 visits I regret buying it. I'm not very happy with my haircut and my son had the men's haircut which is awful and I need to pay another hairdresser to try and put it right
