“Pravin Varsani took ages to contact me, was too busy to be very interested and ended up advising me to take what I now realise is a very poor deal. He did not tell me that a second lot of solicitors would be required by VIDA for a debenture and this would cost me a further large fee in addition to my main solicitors. I find it ridiculous that, at the age of 69, having had various mortgages for 45 years and with £1.5million in equity in my property investments, I have to pay for 2 solicitors to appraise me of my responsibilities on taking out a mortgage. I would not use you again and would advise others against John Charcol. I am paying your fee VERY RELUCTANTLY.”

“From the very start Tom was incredibly helpful, talking us through what was needed and acting quickly when we found a property. He was always responsive and a reall fantastic communicator. He worked really hard to make it as simple as possible! Towards the end Isabelle was brilliant as well, with all the help offered. Thanks! Would definitely recommend.”

“May advisor Randeep is fantastic, he was very helpful and reassuring throughout the process, and helped sort out the complexities along the way (porting an existing mortgage and extending it with additional borrowing to sell our home and buy a new house, with bullet repayments). He was very responsive and seemed to be always available when I needed to speak to him. I expect it was not the easiest case, and I am quite demanding, but Randeep was excellent and I would be happy to recommend him to anyone.”

“Emma was particularly good at understanding our requirements for the two mortgages and sourcing good products to match. Communications were very good during the sourcing stage and the getting formal statements of offer from Virgin Money and Metro Bank in a reasonable timescale. My contact with JC Ltd staff was always met with staff who were polite and cheerful and efficient in moving matters along.”

“Riza and Simon were both excellent -5* and I would thoroughly recommend John Charcol to others. I’ve put 4 stars not 5 though due to their recommendation of APL as their preferred conveyancers who were probably the worst company I have ever dealt with!”
