Often compatible cartridge get blamed for being faulty when that is not often the case, In fact by far the greatest number of calls we get from customers relates to cartridges not being recognised or memory conflicts. They don’t happen all that often but when they do occur, all you need to simple do is reset your printer, by removing all of the cartridges whilst your printer is switched on, followed by switching off your printer at the plug socket for 2 minutes. Turn your printer back on installing the colour cartridges first followed by the black last, as this acts as the master reset cartridge. So why does your printer state the cartridges are not recognised? This is where the printer ‘remembers’ the previous type of cartridge that was installed and is confused by the change. This can cause recognition faults, which as it happens are easily rectified. But in some circumstances, the printer can assume the wrong ink levels and this has a couple of possible consequences: 1. If the printer thinks a cartridge holds less ink than it does, then you will be told it is empty when it is still 2/3 full. This is obviously annoying and a waste of ink. Since our cartridges always hold more than the originals (and in some cases 3 or 4 times as much) you want to avoid this. 2. The flip side is that if you continue printing out of sync then you eventually get to a point where the printer thinks there is more left in the cartridge then there actually is. In this case, the printer will keep trying to print after the cartridge is empty. When a printer tells you to replace a cartridge, there should be a little bit of ink left in the bottom so that the flow of ink is maintained. If the printer continues printing when a cartridge is bone-dry, then air is sucked into the ink line and creates a blockage. This is easily recognised: when a cartridge needs replacing, the first you should know about it is the message from the printer. If during a print-run you see a deterioration in quality first then the cartridge has completely run out of ink and the printer is starting to suck on air. And once you get an air bubble in the ink line it can be a pain to get rid of so you really want to avoid doing this.

Black refill ink cartridge has already run out and I very much doubt I have even made 50 prints! I am not impressed even though it was cheap. I expected better than that.

It is common to get a low ink or empty warning when using remanufactured cartridges as the print head contains electrical contacts that communicate with your printer. Because the cartridge is being reused your printer thinks that you have inserted an old ‘empty’ cartridge. Unfortunately there is no way to reset this information however I can assure you that the cartridges are fully checked and tested before they are dispatched. However if your Canon printer has come to a halt because of the error message, then please press and hold the reset button for 15 – 20 seconds or until your printer carriage starts to move. (you will not have to do this again) The only disadvantage to remanufactured cartridges is that you will not get any indication of when the ink is running out. However we would advise simply keeping a spare cartridge in stock and checking the quality of your prints when they begin to fade then you know it’s time for a new cartridge. Should you have any further problems then please do not hesitate to contact me again. Firstly read the message given to you by your printer and then read it again just to be sure that the message is not just asking for your permission to use the installed cartridge. Such a message will normally have a “Continue” prompt towards the bottom of the message. I know its obvious thing for me to ask you to check but you would be amazed how often something like this is overlooked. If however your message is clearly stating the cartridge is not recognised or is not compatible please follow the steps below: Remove all cartridges from your machine correctly with the printer on and make sure all packaging, clips and tape have been removed from the cartridges. If you are required to follow prompts on screen to change a cartridge make sure you do follow them, otherwise you should be able to simply lift the lid or press a specific button to get your carriage to slide across. Never pull the carriage across to change a cartridge as your printer will not realise anything has changed. All you will do is cause damage to your printer and potentially your poor fingers as well. Turn your printer off, disconnect the power supply and leave it off for about 10-15 minutes. Doing this will give your printer chance to clear the error it had and power down correctly. It may also be worth ensuring your printer is communicating this to your computer and that the error on screen has cleared. Reconnect the power supply and turn your printer back on and wait for it to settle down and warn of a missing cartridges. Nobody likes to be woken up and instantly have half a dozen things shouted at them and your printer is the same. Taking an extra 30 seconds now may save you the time/ hassle of returning your cartridge or purchasing a new one. Re-install the cartridges individually. Put the colour ink cartridges first and the black one last making sure they are fully clicked into place. Please make sure that you follow any instructions given to you or follow the procedures described in the manual. If multiple cartridges have been rejected I would recommend installing them individually and ensuring the cartridge is being recognised by the printer before repeating the process for the next cartridge. If any cartridges are rejected remove them from the printer immediately and either replace with another from your stock or move onto the next colour. There are a variety of different causes of Epson inkjet cartridges not being recognised, ranging from damaged chips to the chip not being correctly aligned with the corresponding contacts inside the printer. However by following the above steps you are effectively forcing the cartridge to check thoroughly for a new cartridge and I fine this is much more reliable that rushing through the procedure like you may have done previously. I hope this advice has helped, if however the problem continues then unfortunately it would appear you have a damaged, faulty or incompatible cartridge. In which case please simply get in contact with us again quoting your order number and the full printer model and we will help you further.

I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing problems, from time to time air bubbles or dried ink locate around the print head and can restrict the ink flow. Please follow the troubleshooting guide below to remedy this: Wrap the cartridges with kitchen towel ensuring the print head is covered, so you don’t get ink on yourself, shake the cartridge back and forth, this will dislodged any air bubbles that are trapped near the print head and restricting the ink flow. Run the cartridges under warm water for a few seconds then dry the cartridge with kitchen towel and firmly press the print head onto the kitchen towel to check that ink is coming out. Some cartridges may require a little longer allowing the heat to penetrate the ink head, so please try sitting the cartridge in a saucer of warm water for several minutes if the blockages persists. Reinstall the cartridge into your printer and print off several test pages. If you are still encountering problems please contact our customer support team on 0845 127 4325 quoting your order number, full printer model and we will issue you with our returns details. If you have had product from us within the last 12 months, we’ll repair the product or, if that’s not possible give you a replacement or, if that’s not possible a refund.

Delivery time fine. Cartridge not recognised by printer. Lots of hassle to 'frig' the computer to print as it assumes there is no ink! Cartridge didn't last nearly as long as expected. Looked shoddily refurbished. Won't be buying here again.

This was my second order for which the promised order confirmation email did not arrive. However, the order itself arrived as normal. When I order genuine Canon inks they do not arrive in the original Canon cardboard packing. I guess this is to economise on postage but does make me wonder whether they are genuine.

I am sorry to hear that your order confirmation email failed to arrive, this normal happens when customers use the express checkout. I can assure you that all our listed original ink cartridges are the genuine products removed from the cardboard packaging by using small packaging & keeping our overheads down we are able to continue to offer a free first class postal service. We do however have several customers who wish for them to be sent in the original box, which we are happy to do. Please get in touch by calling our customer support team who can arrange this for you on your next order.

My goods arrived damaged however you did replace them, probably the handlers fault. Although the inks are new my printer is now giving me a message the cartridges are empty, after little use. This is disappointing as up to now the service had been good.
