Very clearly laid out course broken into manageable sections. Would have liked some more examples of lesson plans.

I liked the course, but I missed pictures, diagrams or schemes. I think, that would be a good idea to include other methods (not only written form). Thank you for the course :)

I have a complaint because I did complete the 120 hr Tefl course, although I did not complete the final assignment on the 1 to 1 Teaching English strand. I finished the course by doing the week-end course with Brett Crelley on 16th/17th August, 2014. However, to date I have not received any certificate acknowledging that I did do the course. I did contact Tefl by Email on both the 1st and 2nd September, 2014, and was advised I would be sent the appropriate certificates within one week, but to the present time I have received nothing. Lucky I am not needing it for a job application, although I might in the future. I was told to download it from the TEFl sites, but as my course was closed I had no access to Tefl. I would appreciate it if the certificate be sent to me, please. I had a major problem with the 2nd assignment on the 1 to 1 teaching English course, and despite four attempts I had not got it. It was the only assignment in the whole 120 hr course I had any trouble with, and speaking to another student about to finish her Teaching degree she admitted it was difficult. I think looking back, there was very little information in the teaching notes to specific what was needed to complete this assignment. Anyway, I did give up being very frustrated and upset about it all. I would be interested to know if other students experienced similar problems, because I have studied at University degrees, nursing studies and so on so I feel I am a reasonably intelligent person. Perhaps, for the sake of future students, either more information on completing the assignment, or a different assignment be set. Unfortunately, this was one of the courses I had really wanted to pass. Anyway, overall the course was well structured, and I did realise I was very rusty on grammar and the rest. I think it is a good course to prepare you for teaching. Doing all the strands I did was a lot of work and I had to work hard to finish it in time. I think maybe students should be informed that after the cut-off date of their course they no longer have access to any of the notes. I have completed many courses and still have notes, both written and computerised, and if I had known I could not access any of these later I would have taken more notice as I went through the course. Cheers, Kathy Brown

I found the course to be inspiring and extremely helpful, broadening my knowledge of the technical aspects of English and giving me a lot to think about regarding teaching, especially to foreign students.

Personally I thought the course lay out was of high a standard. Having completed an ESL course prior to joining itoi through Courses Direct. I found itoi was more focused on the teaching aspect as opposed to the receptive and productive skills of English although this is not say this was not emphasized. Thanks Gayle for two insightful Webinars on these two important areas of English. The Webinars were a really effective tool in bringing the course material to life. My only suggestion would be to have a Webinar which shows a live class in action. The lesson could be on grammar! I would have really got something tangible from such a Webinar. What's the old saying "seeing is believing!" Cheers Lindsay G

With the help of a wonderful international team, I was able to start a new career, self-paced and from the comfort of my own home. Thanks! Looking forward to more online courses to further specialize...

For a strictly online course, i-to-i tefl is great! The modules include videos, interactive quizzes, and the essential skills required to teach English abroad. The checkpoints to be completed every three modules really forces you to apply what you've learned to a classroom setting. Highly recommended!

I did the 120-hour online course, as well as the Teaching Young Children specialist course. Both courses were well-organized and touched on the basics of teaching English. It was well-set up, starting with the basic introduction of how to teach, giving a review on various grammar structures, and then going into how to teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and other skills. It is quick and easy! The checkpoints were graded quickly and efficiently. It took me two months to complete all of the tasks and have a better understanding of TEFL. However, I did have some issues with the layout. The checkpoints (especially the lesson plans) were harder to input because it was not a user friendly. There was a checkpoint that had voice clips, and they were extremely difficult to understand. Also, there were questions in the progress checks that were not covered in the material. Overall, this was a good course to get an introduction into how to teach English.

I'm really enjoying the course! I already have some years of experience as a teacher and I'm glad the i-to-i method connects with my personal style of teaching.. The fact that the testresults are shown on my iResume makes me competitive and I feel like being a student again. So far a good course and hopefully I can put the theory into practice soon!

I really enjoyed the courses that I've taken with i-to-i (no, I don't have a gun to my head). The detail in the lessons was great, and the ideas that students are given in terms of making the lessons interesting made my first few classes go much smoother - at least until I got the hang of it. The assessments were fine, and I enjoyed getting more detailed feedback on the more complex assessment pieces. All in all I would definitely recommend the course for some who's wanting to get into teaching English either overseas or in their own country.

Trusted company. I needed to upgrade my TEFL cert. for my visa. My boss said i-to-i was a trusted and known company. Although I'm already an experienced TEFL teacher, the course was useful.

The online course is easy to understand and very easily navigated. I appreciated that the responses/grades for my checkpoints came in in less than 24 hours, so that I could quickly continue with my course and not have to wait very long to find out how I did. I would certainly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to earn a TEFL certificate.

Dear TEFL, Thank you for affording me the opportunity to do a quick review on my experience with I-to-I. I'm at the concluding stage of my course and drained to say the least! Its all good though I've learnt so much and have been so inspired by the course. Doing any course on - line requires a lot of discipline and can be very challenging. You have no interaction or people around you to bounce off ideas or ask questions. It's basically you and your lap top! My only concern is that moderators or assessors seem to be more concerned about their opinions when you submit assignments and the focus should be on the student and how to assist them knowing they have no support structure, text books or resources. We need to know where we went wrong in an assignment not what they think. I feel this can be a great "put off" and reluctance to want to submit but then without submission you cant qualify. This is why the practical part of the course should be done prior to the on line work so that students know what to expect and can understand the holistic approach. I would recommend this course to anyone and will continue marketing you! Best Regards Bernadette Levendal

Shame that I could not get a lot of teacher assistance ie if I had a question to ask not always easy to get an answer whereas in a class you can speAk with a tutor. Other than that course was fine

I have been enjoying my i-to-i course very much as it is interactive and easy to follow. The lesson are present in an easy-to-read format. In addition to the course material itself i-to-i provides links to plenty of useful information and resourses on the web along with webinars to further round out a persons knowledge of each unit. The only negative things I would have to say are that there were a few times when the correct answers for quizzes in lessons were not accepted (it may have been an error in the programme itself. I know they were the right answers because the programme itself prompted me but when I put in that answer it wouldn't accept it. Same with one drag and drop quiz - answers were given later on so I knew they were right but the programme wouldn't accept some of them). Also they say you have 90 days to complete the course, however, I purchased a 120-hour course and an advanced grammar course at the same time and I have only 90 days to complete both courses. Given that there's quite a bit of work involved in the progress checks (one for each unit) and exams (a checkpoint every third unit) plus plenty of reading and webinar watching to do, it's not a lot of time. Overall I would give the course and 8 out of 10.
