Very under handed, they only cover £200 limit on parts, which IS in the terms and conditions but they didn't tell me that when I was getting talked into purchasing the fixed price plus insurance..... I feel ripped off as they tell me the parts come to over £300, would rather cancel my agreement with them and lose £49 than have to deal with these scumbags, 3 kids in the house with no cooker for 3 weeks now when they said someone would be out within 2 days, then some rude women phones me while on the school run to tell me I have to wait another 10 days before an engineer comes out and that was to just check the parts an not to fix it... Total waste of time

This is a very slick sales operation and will almost certainly be the first option you will find if you search online. Do yourself a favour and scroll down to see what other options are available. I had multiple problems with a cooker when we moved to our new house and agreed a 'fixed cost repair' with them that consisted of three items and was promised an engineer visit the following Monday. Monday came and went without anyone appearing so I called them back to be told that someone else was handling it and would get back to me. No one did. After more chasing we finally got a call from an engineer promising to come the following Tuesday (so 8 days after the original time), which he did but only to fix two items: the third he decided was "cosmetic" so wasn't included. More chasing, more promises of call backs (which were finally kept only at the third time of asking) to eventually to told that the item was indeed "cosmetic" so the repair was completed. When I asked for one third of the fee be refunded, that, apparently, was not possible. Slick sales and nice telephone manners are all very well but welching on an agreement is simply not on. Go elsewhere.

We do use manufacturer approved engineers where possible and unfortunately, in this instance they decided one of the items needed a repair due to cosmetic damage, which they would not be able to repair. For a repair that will cost £168 I would expect beeter service. The engineers visit took 5 minutes to agree my diagnosis, take the part nuber I had found and then leave, Good value not at £49. A follow up call from Go Assist tells me they cant fix it as the part is obsolete. Many calls later and more than a week since agreeing the repair Go assist is still argueing about the part. I rang Smeg engineers who confirm that I have found the right part, that it is not obsolete and that they have stock, yet still Go assist will not do anything they wait for the engineer to contact Smeg. I did it in 5 minutes. SO if you want to spend a lot of money on nothing then be aware this will not be an easy journey

After paying the fixed price fee I waited 2 weeks for an engineer who on arrival told me he had never seen this appliance before, which tells me he was not a manufacturer or manufacturer recommended engineer, he told me he would have to order a part, without taking a part number, another 2 weeks and many phone calls later was allowed to cancel my order less a £49 admin fee. I then ordered the part from Partmaster it came the next day and I fitted it at a cost of £24. Feel very disappointed with this company and conned out of £49 plus £102 warranty I had to take out with them to get a cheaper fixed price repair. Would certainly never recommend to anyone else

Go Assist is a friendly informative site offering an extremely useful service. The site is easy to navigate around. The FAQ's is pretty comprehensive and the site has a UK call centre.
