The engineers diagnosis was a faulty pcb. The cost quoted was over £300, almost as much as a replacement machine. I declined the repair.

Excellent booking system, engineer on time and very knowledgeable. But, £93 for an engineer to visit for 5 minutes and say we need a new machine is extortionate. Next time, we will go straight to buying a new machine.

The oven has not been repaired and I don’t know when it will be.

Five minutes to confirm fault but quoted cost of component made repair not worthwhile. Cost of call out more than I expected as not told the quoted cost did not include VAT. Feel hard done by.

Disappointed. Engineer didn't know the cause of the problem. May have been a gas leak or a blockage. Could re-gas for £71 but may not solve it. If a gas leak or blockage, couldn't be repaired. So didn't proceed. Still had to pay call-out fee.

To much money to turn up and stand there and do nothing and just stand say what it could be then say it’s the gas.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that your freezer was not repairable due to the gas needing to be replaced. This is not something we recommend as it is not guaranteed to repair the appliance and would usually be beyond economical repair.

Before you arrange an appointment, try and establish what might be at fault over the phone and if it makes economic sense to fix it! I paid £80 for the pleasure of an engineer looking at the fridge for 30 seconds and declaring its not fixable. Which is the only reason why I've given Glotech 2 stars as they could have give me a discount. Now I'm hesitant to use a repair company again. The engineer and customer service were otherwise professional.

I filled in the request form online stating that my Miele washing machine was not working. I stated quite clearly that “ the drum is not moving and therefore not spinning” When the engineer arrived she tried to move the drum and said “the drum isn’t moving the bearings are gone… you can’t fix it it needs a new drum” she went in to quote me over £400 for a new drum!! I tuned down the offer and she left! I paid £117.54 for a call out for a fault that they could have diagnosed based in my request form alone I was very disappointed as local repair men won’t touch Miele machines as they are sealed units and impossible to access. It just seems that a professional “Miele” repair engineer should have known this without seeing it ( and costing me over £100 for a visit) The engineer only told me what I already knew…. The drum isn’t moving!! I’m not very happy as I’ve since had to pay £280 for a new machine ! And feel the £117.54 I paid you was an unnecessary waste of money

I booked an appointment with them on the 23rd and they arrived on the 28th. Because that was the earliest appointment. They told me something wasn’t right with the valve in my dishwasher and they advised I needed a replacement which costs on top of the initial service I received on the day. I was told they would order a new part and fix it for me in a few days. I paid them money. Then a couple of days later someone from the company emails me to say they aren’t able to repair my appliance on this occasion, sorry. I am very disappointed, and quite frankly need to be ware of companies who take a call out fee. They just take your money. That’s just my experience and I don’t wish for this to happen to anyone else.

After three visits and a change of the fridge sensor, the engineer still isn't certain what the fault is???. Suggesting a new compressor and regas at a cost of over £600 with a 50% chance it will fix the fault. (His words).

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear the fridge is still not working. I can see one of your senior engineers has attended and given some advice to defrost the heater and monitor. I hope this has worked.

Pleased with the response by your engineer. However, I found the call out charge excessive as the faulty knob on my oven turned out to be obsolete and could only be fixed by applying a drop of superglue to it - £93.54 is rather a lot for a small amount of glue !! Other than that - everyone I dealt with was very polite.

Good Afternoon Jan, Firstly we would like to say that we are happy with the experience in relation to the booking process, engineer interaction and the politeness of our team. Concerning the issue with the price; the fee paid is a standard call-out and labour fee for the engineer to attend to the property to understand the matter at hand. Until the engineer arrives we are unable to fully diagnose the problem and in response know the part needed and the availability of the part also. We would like to apologise once again and hope you consider us in the future for any further problems you may have. Regards, Glotech Repairs.

Appointment was delayed a week ( obviously can not help illness) The technician came and told me my fridge wasn’t worth repair and the call out was £93 in a total of ten minutes. He told me he had sent a email to the sales office and someone would call me with a quote. Unfortunately they didn’t. I rang the second day and was told they would either ring me or send me a quote by email , unfortunately once again they didn’t! So they lost a sale and I lost £93 !!

The engineer has had problems sorting out the problem with my dishwasher / I thought it was fixed but no such luck. The drain is still blocked. Where do I go from here? Shall I give up and buy a new dishwasher or do you ha e someone on your staff who is more familiar with Meile Dichwashers? i would appreciate your comments.

Unable to repair my Freezer issue, money spent without a fix. Unsatisfactory sadly for my issue. Lack of experience & familiarity with the Product.

My booking was cancelled with no notice and no email to confirm. I turned up to address and waited all day for engineer to find out at half 3 that it had been cancelled days earlier. It still needs fixing.

I booked an oven repair through Glotech and received an email that the appointment was made for Thursday morning, 21 July. When I rang the local engineer on Thursday to confirm the time, I was informed that the appointment had been cancelled by Glotech. I hadn’t been informed and I was not impressed with the services of Glotech, though the local engineers were very helpful and I will use them again.

I would not use them again for a repair - I would have used a local company had they returned my call. Call out fee was £82 and they wanted £230 for a new board for Hotpoint washing machine so decided to buy a new one from them and got 50% of call out fee refunded. With hindsight I would have been better off sourcing the machine myself as I'm pretty certain I could have paid less. However I was very busy at the time and theirs was the easy option

Seemed promising on initial booking, was told the repair would cost under £70 in labour. The appointment was booked for the following week, but the engineer turned up a few days early, I thought to myself ok fine earlier is better fortunately on this occasion I wasn't out of the home. During the repair the engineer was friendly, however, I found him to lack some confidence in how to approach the repair and dithered too much. He needed a hand moving the appliance and then attempted to jam in a heating element for a different model. Was then told to go two roads down and purchase the correct spare part for my appliance. I was then charged more for labour cost than what I was promised when I made the booking, I sent a querying email to the company and got a response from Ben Lovegrove the Director of the company, who said I did not book the job correctly as it was down as a freestanding appliance, To which I made clear that I did not book this myself online but had spoken to someone on the telephone and explicitly noted twice that it was an integrated unit. Based on this experience I cannot recommend Glotech Repairs.

We had a reluctant engineer visit to our faulty dishwasher. We paid the fee before arrival and then when the engineer arrived he did not knock on the door or ring the bell but phoned me to ask if anyone was at home. If I hadn't answered the phone I think he would have driven off when in fact we were at home. When he came into the house he said 'it's probably the heater element or the control panel and it will cost £190 so it's not worth repairing and said we should get another dishwasher'. At this stage he had not even looked at the dishwasher. I insisted that he checked the gasket because I thought there was water in the sump and he reluctantly looked and found water in the sump. He drained it and said it should be fine now, but if we have any more problems we get a free call out. He did not investigate how the water got into the sump. After putting the dishwasher back in place he left, but then we realised that he had not levelled the dishwasher and we now have an integrated dishwasher with a sloping door, with the bottom of the door jutting out 1 inch in relation to every other kitchen cabinet but flush at the top of the door. I have no faith in the repair being permanent because the cause was not investigated. I do not know if this engineer is typical of others but all I can say is that he was reluctant to do anything helpful.
