Good price, cheaper by a huge amount then who we had been with for the previous 7 years, haven’t needed to make a claim etc so I’m hoping if I ever needed to I’d get a good level of service.

I have not ever interacted directly with HomeProtect. The services were purchased through an online bidding tool that surveyed my needs and made recommendations.

Good price in the end for cover I wanted, would have been better if I hadn't had to search for this good price, renewal quote was £50 more with significantly less cover included.

Not really had any issues nor have I received any outstanding customer support. Would have been nice to receive all policies in the post to save me from having to print them out myself.

Really good company while I was buying, and a good price - I wrote a glowing review at the time. However I sold the property after 7 months and discovered I had a huge penalty to pay, equivalent to nearly 5 months' premium. It wasn't just this but the customer service person I spoke to was rude and unpleasant, I wouldn't recommend or use them again.

My policy had to be modified half way through the year and Homeprotect was trying to provide me with a policy which was highly inferior and unsuitable to what I had with them initially and my needs as well. I had to request the intervention of the ombudsman to have the remaining of the policy reimbursed and be "freed" from their contract . Conclusion: If you have no dealings/problems with them, they are OK. However, and this is from the experience I had, should there be a problem, they will try to crucify you and refuse to listen to you. The next question is: would I buy another insurance from Homeprotect even if it is cheaper? The answer is very easy; NO

I set the policy payment up for direct debit payments and assumed that I'd provided all of the necessary information when I opened the policy, but have had numerous communications from Premium Credit about the DD which has been a real pain. I've never taken out a policy where the payments are handled by a third party and been contacted persistently by the credit company when I've already provided account details for payments. In the middle of moving house having these emails and messages when I understood everything was arranged for the policy has been very onerous. It has been a negative experience when opening a policy is usually far more straightforward than this.

Seem to be a good, focused Home Insurance specialist. Cover appears to be of a high standard and good value. Documentation and actions required relating to paying monthly (via a finance arrangement) was somewhat unexpected and not the normal way of undertaking a Direct Debit style payment plan. But once I read and understood the process it wasn't difficult to do and it all seems to have gone OK.

I hate insurance. This is an industry that prays on the fear of people loosing stuff they never needed in the first place. It is a fantastic way of making a shed load of money from us gullible people that buy into this. I hate dealing in any way with any insurance company because i think you are all faceless people out to fleece us.
