Renewal was an easy process throughout. Our two premiums had a slight increase although there was no explanation for this. It would be helpful to know the reasons. We have not had to make any claims. Thank you for your service.

Sorry if we've left you confused. I appreciate it's frustrating when your price isn't what you were hoping for, but there are lots of different rating factors that are taken into account when calculating a renewal price. Zoe from the HomeProtect Team

Homeprotect ended up being the best quote for us in the end, but they were very slow to get the price to us, nearly a week to have it looked at by the underwriters and get a confirmed quote to us. This was too slow as we were due to exchange on our house in two days and needed a policy to start then. Ended up having to take out an alternative policy out with another company and then cancelling that a week later to switch to Homeprotect. Which was a bit of a faff we didn’t need on an already busy week moving.

Competitive price for comprehensive coverage. The cost of automatic renewal went up unfortunately even during COVID-19 which was unexpected. Overall, no problems.

It must be frustrating but there are lots of different factors that go into calculating premiums, based on each individual risk assessment. I called to add my new Electric Bicycle as a listed item. £33 quoted. The sales guy did not know what I would be paid if my £800 was stolen. I was eventually trasfered to a lady who told me I would get the value, whatever that means. I then askes to be transfered back to renewals. But sadly after waiting for 15 mins I was cut off. I did not get a chance to call back so the insurance automatically renewed but sadly my electric bike was not included. So sadly im bit nervouse to leave my bike if I go out on it. Otherwise im happy enough with the insurance but never make a claim.

We’ve been with HomeProtect for a number of years and, accepting that increases do occur, have always considered them to provide value for money and good service. When arranging renewal this year, I was surprised to find that I was speaking to a lady working from home literally some 5 or so miles from our home in Yorkshire. Guess that’s the new ‘normal’ resulting from this unusual pandemic situation. So, job well done ‘Yorkshire lass’

We have a non-standard build property and HomeProtect gave us the lowest premium which we are happy with. However when we signed up they only sent out the policy document (not the wording booklet) so I wasn't aware of all the situations in which things are NOT covered and only found this out when I tried to make a claim. This is probably the same with all insurers but I didn't appreciate the lack of transparency.

Called to discuss changes to our policy and found the Home Protect agent to be very competent and helpful. We were able to negotiate some discount on the renewal premium and although this was still quite expensive relative to other insurers on comparison sites, decided to stick with HP for another year.
