I've just taken out a policy with Homeprotect. My case was slightly more complicated and couldn't be covered by a normal home insurance policy. I phoned to arrange it and found them very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend them.

It's my second year with Home Protect. I've renewed yet again because I've found them very responsive and helpful. I always get to speak to a real person on the phone (a real plus) when discussing my cover, and they are available till late in the evenings and Saturdays. Most importantly, their cover and their premiums are very competitive. The only thing I can't comment on is their response to claims, because I have never needed to make any claim with them up to this point!

No issues with the property so can't comment on service. Property was able to be insured by them though when other couldn't. Renewal was transparent but the price had increased by c. £150.

Purchased the home insurance policy through MSE site. The relevant information was provided and it wasn’t difficult to purchase. The price was comparable with other companies providing similar product. Documents arrived straight away and are easy to follow. I had no need to make a claim or contract the company directly.

Easy to sign up and the small Print seems to cover everything. Hope I never need to claim and hopefully if I do then it will be as simple as the application process

I haven't had to make a claim using my Home Protect policy, so impossible to judge what they are like. Getting the policy seemed straight forward enough though, so fingers crossed.

Had historic subsidence before I bought the property and I was excepted as long as having no subsidence in the last ten years which I don’t have

Have renewed for a number of years now with HomeProtect and never made a claim. So I would expect some loyalty pricing or discounts, yet every year the price increases. I have no complaints with them, as not had to ever test their customer service yet, but would hope they look after their loyal customers better. Hopefully in the future this will happen and I wont have to move elsewhere.

Can't comment on the claims side or having to contact company as I have not needed to. The only complaint I have is the automatic renewal payment being taken a week before due as there is no reason for it not to be taken on the due date. Apart from that easy to set up online

Thank you for your feedback. We do state on your documents that the payment will be attempted 7 days prior, to prevent any gap in cover should the payment fail. You do have the option to stop your policy from automatically renewing. If this is the case please send your request to resolve@homeprotect.co.uk and we can arrange for this to be stopped in future.
