Not had the cover long enough to really understand if I made the right choice but the quote and acceptance process was simple and the price of cover very competitive. Helpful call centre staff experienced so far!

Terrible company. They state there well be a £50 cancellation fee which is steep but I had accepted. However when i come to cancel it turns out they charge you £50 plus 6 months installmemts! This is listed in a separate section in the T&Cs and is referred to as an ‘endorsement’ For me that will be over £200. The person I spoke to was unable to tell me the amount I will be charged instead she advised me that my account will be put into arrears, ‘finance’ will email me to let me know the amount I owe and then they will take the full amount from my card. No regard as to if i can afford it (having been paying monthly it is highly likely many people will not suddenly have half their premium plus £50 at their disposal). This is a scam especially given I had chosen the policy as it offered cover for a vacant house that was up for sale. A scenario which is highly likely to end with a policy being terminated part way through the year.

All good until you miss a payment. Rather than suspend they will charge 6 months' premiums plus £50 cancellation fee, approx £116 for me. No way out of this if you can't pay by the deadline, which isn't exactly helpful when you're obviously having money problems since you missed a payment in the first place. They had the gall to offer me a new policy, without waiving any of the charges, presumably hoping it will happen again so they can get another little stack of free money. Mercenary, money-grubbing ripoff merchants.

Joke of a company. Mess you around for three weeks, no returning phone calls, failing to do anything they say they are going to do, then turn round and say they can't offer insurance! Why didn't you say that when I got my online quote and save me three weeks hassle, you pathetic excuse for a company?? I have the most basic, straightforward needs too, so it's not like its some kind of complex case that you can't cover. Stay away, these people are a waste of time.

Claims department repeatedly failed to call us back in designated time periods. It took over two weeks for their inspector to issue their report which further delayed our claim. So far they have only paid us half what they said they would pay which is only a fifth of the overall cost.

Awful service. Lied to twice on the phone by Home Protect. When it came to making a claim for loss I was told I wasn't covered, even though I had asked to be covered when I signed up. Upon speaking to 2 managers and a customer service advisor, they told me I was actually covered, when trying to continue my claim I was told again I wasn't covered. So i was lied to by 2 managers on the phone who went into the terms and conditions of my policy, they have admitted they was in the wrong but are not willing to honour the claim, The worst insurance company I have ever dealt with.

Read the policy carefully as there is a £50 cancellation fee. I understand a fee must be put in place but £50 is excessive, considering the insurance is only £21 a month. When cancelling the women on the phone was unable to give an exact figure for cancelling our policy and there was no option to be past to the finance team to find this out.

The process was easy to buy the insurance , but simply adding a luxury watch to the policy some weeks after taking it out became an epic the customer service was appalling , confusing and misleading and the charges they applied to cancel due to there own mismanagement of the account was shocking I will never use them again

Read documents very carefully as they have more reasons to not pay out than to satisfy your claim . Lots of clauses.

Fortunately, up to the present time, I have not had the need to contact Homeprotect, and as this would normally mean making a claim, I hope I don't have to. My dealings with them at the beginning were very good, and if their renewal premium stays competitive, I will probably stay with them.

HI, I HAVE NOT USED A COMPARISON SITE BEFORE, I FOUND IT EXTREMELY EASY TO USE. THE DOCUMENTS CAME THROUGH ON LINE, THERE WAS A COUPLE OF THINGS I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND, I RANG THROUGH TO THE COMPANY (I WANTED TO SPEAK TO A PERSON) HE WAS VERY GOOD AND HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND THE ITEMS I WAS UNCERTAIN ABOUT.

Details regarding window locks hidden in the small print - you must have these even if you select the option saying you have not! Poor communication and customer service as when I enquired about this customer services were of no help.
