I was not impressed with the member of staff who served me. She did not give me the right advice on size and fit, was not friendly and her only concern was to sell. Needless to say I returned the product the next day Again the person at the till was not too happy that I returned and kept insisting that I should look for another pair for exchange I expect a no question asked Return in any shop with any product within the terms and conditions

Went through full ordering process including checkout then got email to say not available. Then got email to say back in stock. Didn’t have sizes so ordered a small size to see if it fitted. It didn’t so I parcelled up to send back and then found I have to pay postage and recorded delivery recommended. When I originally read the website it said you could print off a label it did not say anything about paying postage.

The item will have been listed as low stock on our website, which indicates and advises there is 3 or less pairs within the company and the availability cannot be guaranteed. Although the order usually processes as normal, on a rare occasion we may be unable to fulfil the order and subsequently need to cancel. We will usually inform the customer within 24-48 hours of the order being placed. With regards to the back in stock email, this is sent to all customers who have signed up to be notified. The back in stock email will be sent even if one pair is returned into our stock system, and then it is allocated on a first-come first-served basis. We offer a free UK standard delivery with no minimum spend, however we do ask customers to pay the return cost. You can return to a Charles Clinkard store or to our Head Office. We recommend a tracked service, as we do not take responsibility for the parcel until it has been signed for at our Head Office. The label you may be referring to is a Collect Plus label, which can be purchased for £4.49 using the link in the returns section of our website. This covers up to 10kg of returns and is useful for multiple purchases or heavier items. I love the style of the Enfield boot and since I can always rely on perfect comfort from Gabor - half-sizes are a ‘must’ for me - I thought I would risk buying online. I have several pairs of similar styles by Gabor, but all were bought in store and tried on beforehand. Delivery was prompt and efficient. My complaint is with the condition of one of the boots and the frankly, outrageous returns policy by which I must pay to return a faulty product which ought to have been obvious to any self-respecting Quality Control Dept. before it was despatched. I can’t think of any other online retailer that requires its customers to pay postage for faulty returns. In this case, the right boot had scuffs to the patent toecap and cuff around the ankle; these would never have been on display in a store. The boots were bought for a particular occasion and to finish off an outfit. Reluctantly, I kept them rather than risk losing them altogether with time running out - and to avoid paying to post them back. However, I shan’t be buying from Gabor online again whilst this policy persists.

I ordered two pairs of boots. Only one pair arrived. I had to ring to ask why the other pair had not been sent and was told they were out of stock. Why was I able to order them in the first place? I was told an email had been sent to apologise for the cancellation of the order however I never received this.

Hello, Thankyou for your review. If an item says ‘Hurry Low Stock’, it means that we are in short supply of that style in the size and colour in question. This means that although you are welcome to place an order, we are unable to guarantee availability. We source stock through our warehouse and stores, we try to keep the website as up to date as possible and fully understand your disappointment. We tried our hardest to fulfill the item you were looking for however were forced to cancel this and forwarded an email as there was no contact telephone details to be able to speak directly with you. I’m always a size 6 but your size 6 shoes were just too big. I’ve re-ordered 5.5 in same styles. But it’s a real nuisance, especially as the 5.5 was in stock in navy the first time I ordered, but was out of stock on the second order, so I had to go for the black. I’m hoping the 5.5 won’t be too small.

Box arrived damaged although shoes were as described they were too narrow and didn’t fit so in order to return we needed to pay aprox £5 to send them back as there aren’t any Gabor stores in London

We offer a free standard delivery service with dispatch within 2 - 5 working days however do ask customers to pay towards the cost of a return. I can see we dispatched within our promised time frame but unfortunately on this occasion, Royal Mail did not deliver your item the following day as they should have. This is highly unusual and a likely factor is the time of year however, I can understand this was frustrating. Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with your delivery. Your item was posted out using a Royal Mail tracked next day service, however we can see from the tracking that you did not receive the package the next day and your next day payment was refunded to you. This may have been due to the large volume of packages that Royal Mail have at this time of year with it being just a couple of days before Christmas and we are sorry that you did not have your order when you were expecting it. Found a lovely comfortable pair of shoes in my local store- Ilkley, but they didn't match. The sales lady tried to convince me that one had faded a bit due to being in the shop but in fact, one was black suede and the other blue. Found the shoes online and ordered them, paying extra for fast delivery only to find they were the same non- matching pair I'd already rejected. Spoke to a customer service person who was helpful and emailed a returns label. Meanwhile I had tracked down another pair in Wetherby, not that local, and the sales team couldn't have been more helpful. They took back the non- matching pair too. All this could have been avoided if the shoes had been checked before dispatch and I still got a bill for the express delivery charge!

Unfortunately these ankle boots were not good quality. Some of the suede was very patchy!

Hello, Thankyou for your review. The Gabor Skipper are a Standard Comfort fit and are quite a roomy pair of shoes. Some styles of Gabor do come in additional width fittings however as size is personal we cannot guarantee each shoe will fit and the best way to find this out is to try for size. The boots that I ordered were disappointing because one of the boots has quite a few marks on it, including what looked like marks left by a liquid spillage. One boot looked pristine and shiny new but the other one was crumped and looked like it might have been on display somewhere. They certainly didn't look like a matching pair. Very disappointed because after wearing the boots they will of course become marked to have such a discrepancy between boots when they were new was unacceptable. Not happy that I also had to pay to return these boots.

Delivery of boots was good - no problems. The boots didn't fit and have been returned. We are still looking for a pair of boots and also some pairs of shoes. We were amazed to have to pay £4.95 to return the boots and naturally will not be shopping with Gabor in the future as other retailers understand that boots and shoes need to be tried on to ensure that they fit and do not charge.

Returned goods can be taken into a Charles Clinkard store or returned via the following methods: Royal Mail/Post Office-There are various services available however it does depend on the option you chose to return Collectplus-£4.49 for up to 10KG in weight, ideal for larger items or multiple products. I've ordered 2 pairs of boots and one of them wasn't the right size for me, which is fine, I asked to return one of the pairs. However, the thing that let me down is after spending £280 the company asked me to pay the return shipping which was £11. I mean, most companies that sell expensive items would often include a prepaid label, not asking their customers to pay the return shipping by themselves!

Thank you for your review. We offer a free postal service, but we do ask customers to cover the cost of returns. You can take back to a Charles Clinkard store at no cost if you have one near to you. However, with regards to posting, many customers do order more than one pair for fit and will return the items that they do not wish to keep. For this reason on our website there is a Collect+ link where you can buy a label for £4.49 which covers up to 10 kilo, so several items can be returned for this one low cost. Having been given the option of altering the delivery date from the Monday by yourselves, I did just that, requesting delivery on the Tuesday when I knew I'd be home. However the delivery was still made on the Monday, so I was not at home and my boots were left with a neighbour I had not wanted to inconvenience.

Hello, Thankyou for your review. Gabor are a German brand and their width fittings do not convert the same as the UK. The Gabor Brambling is part of the wide fitting rang which the manufacturer offer, to identfy the wider fit, the inside of the shoe will hold either a G or a H. I think it is completely unacceptable, particularly when buying shoes and need to try several sizes, to be asked not only to pay the postage for returns, but to send them by recorded delivery. I have not bought from you before, and will be buying from John Lewis in future!!

Sadly these shoes are so painful! I bought what I thought were the same shoes as I bought 3 years ago which were brilliantly comfortable. They look exactly the same but are much narrower and so painful. Such a shame as they cost £95. Maybe they used to come in a wide fit? Anyway I have worn them for a couple of weeks to work but still really painful. My fault, I should have returned them. Your service is excellent though!

If you still have the original pair you can of course contact us with the details and we can help to identify it and also enquire as to whether the item is still available. For the future, if buying a new pair of Gabor (or any brand), I would suggest wearing around the home only for a number of days. This will help to ensure you find the fit comfortable and if you also like how it looks. The boots were perfect but the delivery experience a total farce! The DPD driver came to our building which is 4 floors high, looked at the communal front door, took a photo and left without trying the door, which does not lock. I know this as I saw the photograph and one of your colleagues kingly called DPD to be told that the driver couldn't gain access which clearly was not the case. We are on the 3rd floor (a map is in the foyer) and were waiting for him to arrive between 12:15 and 13:15. I received a text at 13:00 saying' sorry to miss you'!!. Very annoyed I re-arranged delivery via their email link for the next day after 12 noon to a DPD Hub (Halfords) 7.5 miles away.....but when I arrived the parcel had not been delivered!. Later that day my tracking showed my parcel had been returned to their Swansea depot at 3:30. The next day I received a text to say that the parcel had arrived at Halfords and went once again to collect it. It looked an absolute mess...the packaging was ripped wide open and the box battered! You cannot speak to DPD unless you are willing to pay £7.00 a minute by phone and all emails bounce back. A terrible service which would make me thing twice about ordering anything again although as I said the boots were lovely. I suggest that this sort of delivery service will cost your company in the long run as I'm sure this is not an isolated incident and their is no redress for your customers. Many thanks.
