We love our meat box! We switched with the intention to eat less of better quality meat and knowing that it didn't do 2 rounds of the globe before getting to us. There is a big variety of options and some great treats like the Coppa =)

Recently we have tried to reduce the amount of meat we eat for environmental reasons and increase the quality instead. Field and Flower ticks both boxes by only delivering our box when we need it and the quality being far superior to any high street butcher or supermarket. Their steaks, particularly the Rib-Eye which is our favourite, are absolutely excellent! We have tried cooking new things at home like duck and venison which usually we would only have if we ordered it in a restaurant. Every box comes with a card of tips and cooking instructions which is really helpful if you don't cook at home often. Most recently we have tried their tasty burgers, sausages and ready marinated meats on the BBQ. We thoroughly recommend F&F for anyone but especially couples like us who work long hours and don't always have the time to go shopping in different places for quality ingredients at the weekend. Coming home on a Friday to a fresh delivery is great, we look forward to deciding what to try cooking at the weekend!

I first met James Mansfield around 2009-2010 when the business was starting out. He needed a website, so me and a friend designed and coded the first F&F website. I received four beef burgers as a thank you and the taste was unforgettable. A couple of years passed without signing up (not sure why!) but then I got married and we went to a few butchery classes we bought our first box knowing full well what the pluses were from buying meat from a supermarket. The amount of water that is injected into supermarket meat to make it weigh more is nothing short of a modern day scandal. Why would you buy 1.5kg chicken to be left with 800g of chicken once it's cooked! Now the choice has exploded with Tricklements sauces and fish and cheese we haven't bought food from anywhere else for over 6-7 years and will continue to do so. The occasional "meat-up" is an added bonus. It's so nice to see the two guys and the expanding team doing so well. Bravo

I do like the meat I buy from Field and Flower very much as does my husband Mike. We also so like the ethos of the company that he invested £1000 with them via crowd cube, not really as an investment as such but because we really want the company to succeed. We are both 73 year olds so tend to stick to the smaller cuts which in general suit us better. However, we have also purchased bigger roasting joints for the odd larger family occasions and have always been impressed with the quality and flavour of the meat. As yet we have not tried the fish but believe that you cannot beat fish that is caught and flash frozen on the ship which is what we try and purchase, and so it is not likely we will be buying our fish from F&F. Our only negative comment is that on one occasion a packet of pork loin looked small compared to another similar one purchased at the same time and so we did weigh them both and found one of them to be 18 grams under weight! Also, we have found on occasion there is more fat on the Barnsley chops than we would like -they certainly look much more to our liking on the website picture which shows them as being very lean. We decided not to complain on these few occasions but to wait and see how things progressed and so far we have been happy. These are small points and with your expansion maybe the odd error slips through. However, as you do mark every packet of meat with a weight you should endeavour to make sure they are at least the marked weight and possibly slightly over as in the bakers dozen effect and although we realise that fat is a part of the meat and essential for good flavour etc. We like many people do not like to have too much fat. I am sorry if this sounds like a gigantic moan as it is not meant to be and we are very happy with your products and service and will continue to purchase meat from you but felt you should be aware of our thoughts as we would very much like you to succeed in the future and to do so will only happen if you can keep up you excellent standards which may be a bit difficult if your expansion is rapid. I have been really impressed since we first started having the boxes delivered. The quality of the meat is excellent and there is such a wide choice of cuts. I love the fact there is something new to try most months. I also like the way I am reminded to alter my box contents in enough time to do it. Brilliant. I'm so glad I signed up.

Very good quality of the meat, products always as expected. Just disappointed that since deliveries have been transferred to a transport company, the meat has sometimes arrived with the ice packs completely melted, which is a concern, and also the transport company won;t take the packaging back, which generates a lot of waste, and is leading me to question the environmental impact of having my meat dellivered.

Hi Elodie, thank you for feedback. I'm so happy you have been enjoying your orders. The silver liners and ice packs are designed to keep your box at a safe temperature for up to 24 hours and although the ice packs melt they should still keep the meat at a safe temperature. If you ever have any concerns though please do let us know. The box, silver liner and ice are all recyclable and can go through general recycling. At the moment we can't unfortunately have boxes returned so we do try to ensure we can recycle as much of our packaging as possible. Since discovering field&flower ive not bought meat from any where else.... Why? 1) Animals are free range, and well treated...... Steps are even taken to keep animals as distressed as possible at time if slaughter... Animal welfare is becoming more and more important to people and field & flower recognise and address this fact 2) The vast range of meats, marinated, cuts etc make it easy to plan meals.... Especially for people with busy lives! 3) The meat isn't pumped with chemicals and water 4) The meat is full of flavour....... (taste like it used to when your mum used to cook meals back in the day) 5) You can talk to a real live human if you need help.... Charlotte is very friendly and incredibly helpful, if you can't get through she calls you back ASAP.... 6) it's easy to edit your box and try new food items..... Then it's delivered on a date chosen by you , straight yo your door 7) feels good supporting our British Farmers ......(British Farmers need our support... So let's support them) 8) I couldn't recommend "field&flower" more.....Do yourself and your family a favour and give it a try.... I've not looked back... And doubt you will either!

Deliver good meat excellent very tasty .Easy to cook ,means meals are varied ,having it delivered regularly means my weekly shop is so much lighter when coming back on the bus !

Always very pleased with quality of meat. I’ve never been disappointed. Delivery efficient and customer support excellent.The staff are always very helpful if you have a query. I do miss the reminder you used to send with the latest date to change order but other that that , all good! Well done Everyone !
