“I ordered two Dartington whisky glasses and requested they be inscribed etc. The Dartington glass was the usual excellent quality, as ever. The inscription was somewhat disappointing due largely, I suspect to my lack of understanding of fonts and the resulting font sizes. I daresay my conception of the fonts was flawed and this resulted in somewhat faint lettering. Ah well my fault as usual! But the quality of both the items and the service was as excellent, as ever!”

“The napkin rings I bought as a wedding present were beautiful and arrived promptly but came loose in a cardboard box - devalued the amount of money I'd spent on them. Phoned Farrar & Tanner who then sent me a velvet pouch which was better than nothing but still not ideal.”

“Have used this company on many occasions. Happy with products. Always nicely engraved. This time the glass wasn't quite as clean it could be. Black grease on the pewter base and a lot of black 'glue' visible where it sits in the pewter cup. The grease came off with a good polish. Haven't had to do that before.”

“The carving knives were very good although I thought the case which was made of wood liked quite rough and look cheap! Room for improvement . Hopefully my husband likes it as he is very fussy! First impressions do count.”

“I would love to give 5 stars and almost all aspects of the purchase and experience would warrant such a rating. However, and I'm sorry if this seems trivial, the beautiful tan wallet that I purchased is well made and feels like a quality product - particularly given the very reasonable price point - however, the online photos show the tan leather contrasting with a beautiful dark blue lining while the actual product is lined with a VERY dark blue - almost black lining. This may seem unimportant but it matters because the tan contrasts so well with the blue in the photos. I even have a leather jacket with similar contrast - it is a combination that really works. The almost black lining just takes the edge of the design slightly. Furthermore, it matters because it MAY have swayed my final purchasing decision from other products. Overall, a strong 4 stars, but the images on the site should reflect the product delivered. The main factor in reducing it to 4 stars was my feeling of disappointment when I saw the lining. Trivial? Perhaps. Overthinking, on my part, the design of the wallet? Probably. First world problem? Definitely. Still slightly disappointed? A bit. Thinking of asking my tailor (or finding a tanner) to line it with a slightly lighter blue lining? Yes.”

“When I didn't receive the initial order confirmation by email I thought I was about to have an ordering nightmare, and I was completely wrong. I emailed customer service and they got back to me with full details almost immediately, providing shipping information and an estimated arrival, and then my order arrived ahead of time. Hugely impressed with the service and the product is great too. Would recommend.”

“Unfortunately the first flutes I received were faulty, but you reacted very quickly to my complaint, replying on a Saturday afternoon. New flutes were despatched which were excellent and a returns label was enclosed so that I could return the faulty ones.”

“Very pleased with both the quality of the product & speed of delivery. However disappointed with Gift Wrap Service. For £6 I would have expected the gift tag to at least be printed rather than it being poorly hand written. Would use again this company again in the future.”

Hi there, thanks for your feedback - we do choose to handwrite our gift tags for that personal approach. Our tags are normally neatly written though, if you do have the paperwork which came with the gift it should say who did the gift wrap for you and if you can let us know we can make sure we've had a word about neatness to avoid this happening again.
