Order placed on 21st Nov for one engraved knife (in stock). Paid for express shipping (1-3 days). No delivery by 5th Dec, phoned and asked by F&T to call back following day. I was out all day, so called back on 7th (still no knife). Asked for cancellation and refund. Told that they'd send me a return label and I'd get a refund once knife returned...? They have agreed to refund the express fee at least and say that if the knife is not here by the 9th they will initiate a lost parcel process. It was a birthday present, appreciate there was a postal strike for a couple of days, but we're 2+ weeks on. Lesson learned. Local supplier has turned one round for me in two days, albeit slightly more expensive. If in doubt, shop local.

Hi Alistair, I see that the knife did arrive on 9th December and I appreciate that over 2 weeks is a significantly longer time than expected - unfortunately the Royal Mail distribution centre was really affected by the strikes and additional load due to Black Friday sales and some parcels got blocked in the centre, this took some time to clear. We refunded the postage and we're happy to receive the item back if it is too late to gift, we have a free returns service on our website. Best wishes, Jude

My product was delivered broken! I bought a whiskey decanter (glass) and the package had little to none protection against shocks. Instead of a decanter, I received broken pieces of glass. The experience was very frustrating, as this was supposed to be a birthday present.

Item has still not been passed to the Royal Mail a week after I placed my order. It's obviously a Christmas present and yet no attempt has been made to get the item to me quickly. My message to customer service has so far been ignored.

Disappointed with my experience with Farrar & Tanner. I purchased 3 leather jewellery boxes for my granddaughters at £75 each with a further £24 to have them personalised. Whilst shopping locally I have seen the same jewellery box at a price of £59.99. £15 cheaper per box! I save throughout the year to purchase presents for my 13 grandchildren - can’t help feeling I’ve really been ripped off by Farrar & Tanner.

I ordered a seat walking stick on 3 August and as of 14 August it still has not been delivered. Unfortunately it was intended as a birthday gift on 7 August...paid £9.95 for next day delivery too. Emailing customer service has been fruitless. They just sent me a photo of my front door with no explanation of where my item was. I have just spoken to Caitlin in customer services who has assured me that my item will be delivered today. Without prompting, Caitlin also offered to refund the postage charge, which is the very least that you could do. I have been let down by F & T and won't be ordering from you again, you have proven to be unreliable in what is a very competitive market. There are many other suppliers I can choose from. I hope you find this review/feedback helpful.

Hi Justin, Thank you for your review, I'm sorry to see that you aren't happy with the delivery of your order. The courier collected the stick seat from our warehouse on the 4th August and attempted delivery on the 7th, however nobody was in to sign for the parcel. The parcel was then held at the depot for 4 days awaiting re-delivery instruction. As they hadn't received an update from you the parcel has been put of for a re-delivery attempt today. Good product dispatched and arrived very quickly. However we were upset to find that the box had been damaged presumably when the glasses were taken out for engraving. The company seems genuinely concerned. The glasses were as a gift so we wanted a replacement box which they were unable to supply although one assume that they had goods in stock and could have taken a box from there. We were offered a reasonable discount but stil it left a bit of a sour taste to have to give a gift in a damaged box.

Having checked with our stock manager we unfortunately do not have any spare presentation boxes to offer and offered the partial refund to compensate for this. The product (a backgammon set) is exactly as advertised and what we wanted; it was fairly expensive but is very good quality. Ordering was easy, delivery fast and well organised. Happy to recommend F&T and product.

Absolutely fantastic customer service. My item arrived really quickly but unfortunately it was the wrong item. Within 48hrs of hours of contacting them, the replacement had arrived and the problem fixed. The wallet itself looks fantastic and very well packaged and presented- perfect for the gift. Would definitely but from here again.

I have not received my order and I have sent an email to get the update on my ordered item. I paid extra for the express delivery, not heard from customer service even once. If the Royal mail is on strike, and they knew there will be a delay, they should not charge for express delivery. Not sure if the customer service not replying has got something to do with the Royal Mail strike. Horrible experience so far. Hope I'll receive the item before end of the week.
