Received a large amaryllis 'Carmen' bulb from FG which looked like it had been stored for too long, very dry and one shoot browned off on receipt. It flowered beautifully however but no leaves appeared - so the overall effect was stark, unlike the picture they use for sales which showed the plant with leaves and flowers, so that was what I expected. Unsatisfactory response from customer services despite sending photos of the bulb. Customer Services said the leaves will probably come later - despite the plant being shown with flowers and leaves on their website. with hindsight, it is probably best to return any unsatisfactory plants within the first 14 days rather than plant them and give the company the benefit of the doubt.

Hello, We're sorry to hear that you're disappointed with your Amaryllis. Leaves normally appear after the flower stems, although they can appear before or at the same time as the flowers. This bulb appears healthy with two flower stems and may produce a third flower stem before it produces leaves. If you have any further concerns or questions about the bulb after flowering, please feel free to get back in touch with customercare@farmergracy.com. All the best, Farmer Gracy Customer Care

Lot of plants have not lasted after planting Due to heat and long dry periods even with watering twice a week

Unfortunately the bulbs were delivered far too late for me to be able to plant them because of frost. Just hoping they will be ok to plant next year.

Hello, we're sorry to hear that your parcel arrived late. All bulbs supplied between September and December should be planted by the end of December, they cannot be stored for the following year as it is likely they will deteriorate in storage. However, they can be planted after frosts - it is best to wait until the frost has thawed before planting if possible, or plant into pots if soil in borders not thaw by early January. This is NOT a complaint, just my thoughts following recent purchases and a response to you asking for my feedback. I have placed several orders with you and been very impressed with products and services so far. However, my last lot of orders were from the end-of-season sale for Spring bulbs, which I found too tempting to ignore. I ordered some for me and two lots for others as surprise gifts. The problem, as I see it, is in the time between ordering the bulbs that are labelled as due for planting on arrival in Autumn, and them actually arriving in England when we have snow on the ground which is now frozen solid. Perhaps it would help to take this, and potential courier delays into account when scheduling your sales (two of my orders took over a week to go from them being received to being delivered), or, if it is the case, that the information informs people that the bulbs are ok to be planted later than Autumn; although that does not get round the problem of frozen British gardens. On a specific note, I ordered some Ranunculi which have instructions for immediate planting but also conflicting information that says they are best started off in pots in March. If they are better started off in the Spring, then maybe it would be better to change the dispatch time for these plants?

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. End-of-season sales are always popular, particularly for anyone who doesn't mind late planting when it's cold. We inspect, pack ship all orders as quickly as possible and It is unfortunate that there was a cold snap when many late season orders were being delivered. Bulbs ideally should be planted by mid December but it is ok to plant them until the end of the December and they will still grow normally and flower successfully in spring. Ranunculus supplied in autumn should also be planted by the end of December. They can also be planted in spring but it is best to order Ranunculus for spring planting in that case as they will be freshly harvested and most viable. All the best, Farmer Gracy Customer Care

Mostly very good, but one pack of alliums were well below your usual high quality, even though I sent a photograph I received no feedback, however I will still buy from Farmer Gracey, their bulb selection is the best.

Usually excellent, my most recent purchases were a bit disappointing. All were crocuses, 400 all together, but the bulb size was small (usually top size from this supplier) and we’re already sprouting like crazy. So I’ve planted them anyhow straight away to give the best chance and we will see if they are great in the spring.

Hello, We're sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your crocus bulbs. Crocus bulbs will naturally start to sprout around November, but they can be planted with the shoots attached and will continue to grow normally. Some varieties grow from bigger bulbs than others, we hope you enjoy a great display from them in spring. If you have any further concerns, please contact customercare@farmergracy.com. Positive:- Excellent choice of bulbs at reasonable prices Negative:- Some bulbs arrived shrivelled and rotten. Also over 2 weeks from placing order to delivery is far too long. Delivery needs to be speeded up.

I have used farmer gracy for bulbs for a number of years and have always been satisfied both with the bulbs and the results. However this year I thought the bulbs were of a lower quality. Several varieties had soft, rotting bulbs in the bags that obviously could not be planted. Will think twice before ordering in future

Bulbs arrived on time and very prompt answer and action from customers' service, very nice packaging. BUT: Marisol bulbs collection - I counted 45 bulbs rather than 50. One Peony root did'n look quite healthy (moldy without buds). Some of the other bulbs were very small. Let's see when/if something grows!

I received 2 sets of bulbs. 1 set were in great condition. The other set had a soft mouldy bulb. The other bulbs were covered in mould but most are firm. They are probably ok. I have thrown 2 away so far and will plant the rest at the weekend

On the website, the headline price of many bulbs doesn't reflect the real price per bulb. This means users have to click on every link to see what the price might be for 10, 15 or 30 bulbs and calculate the unit price themselves. In some cases this may be bad for Farmer Gracy, because users will be deterred from looking at some good offers by a misleadingly high headline price; but generally it's just annoying and time-wasting for users. If a user's price limit is, say 30–35p a tulip bulb, it's hard to find those that are in this price range. Generally, though, the website is well designed and the service, packing and delivery are excellent.

I’ve come see FG as a place for quality bulbs and plants at a reasonable price. However on I need to reconsider buying from FG if they continue to use Evri as their courier. Unfortunately there may be a Scammer within Evri who is sending Scam text messages with a link to their customers asking for payment before parcels would be delivered

Hello, We're sorry to hear that you have received scam messages. Scam messages are very common and are sent at random - Evri will not contact you to ask for a payment to make a delivery. Well packaged by Katrina & beautifully presented invoice. However, on this occasion I was disappointed with Farmer Gracy. I placed my order after an e-mail prompt offering free P&P, disappointingly a few days later I received a further e-mail with up to 25% off AND free P&P. One of the items on my order was 5 x "Allium Ambassador" bulbs (costing £19.75) 3 of the 5 bulbs received were only HALF bulbs? For the reasons specified I would only rate this order as "acceptable".

Hello, We run offers throughout the season - later in the season when choice is more limited and delivery times are later than many people would ideally like, the savings tend to be greater. Some allium bulbs will have a flat side. Please contact customercare@farmergracy.com including photos of any you are concerned about and if they are not how they should be we will of course send replacements to you.
