I live in the UK and I am a long standing customer of FG. I am very hesitant to buy further items from FG. For a few years now especially the bare root plants are cut often far too small, many times without an growing eye. Generally I request a replacement/refund of about 25% of the bare roots as they are not establishing. While the customer service is still excellent and there is usually no problem in getting a replacement - it adds a lot of additional work. And the bare roots are still quiet expensive to just ignore this problem. I have reported this problem to FG several times. This year I have discovered independent nurseries (at plant markets), while the plants seems to be a bit more expensive initially, they are already established plants in 1 or 2 litre pots and one can find very special plants as well. The FG online email system also seems to be unable to only send one email about an announcement. As I still get too many emails about the same issue for example ‘free postage ends this weekend’, then is extended etc. I will unsubscribe from the list. I am fully aware of that business esp. after Covid and Brexit was tough, but improvements should be possible by now. Thanks a lot for all the work so far.

On the whole, we find our plants remain fresh and viable throughout the shipping season and produce reliable results. Towards the end of the season, occasionally plants may suffer if they become too warm in transit - if any plants or bulbs arrive in poor condition we're always happy to refund or replace them. 8 Dahlia Bulbs ordered & planted in April . As of August, 4 Bulbs have produced flowers, one of which, is not what I ordered... 3 Bulbs didn't grow at all , and one is still just producing leaves. Of the 2 Hostas I ordered, the hosta t-tex is growing beautifully , but the hosta white xxl, is actually a miniature plant with 2 -3 cm leaves, and is only 2-3 inches high. Not sure about their Bulbs. Fortunately I did order from another company at the same time, so my garden has some large blooms, otherwise it would have been a sparse summer.... That said, their customer service & delivery is excellent

I ordered quite a few perennials at the start of the season. Unfortunately none of the echinacea, salvia nor sedum grew, on closer inspection after a few weeks of no growth, they were rotted. Maybe I received a bad batch as the Perovskia, Echinops and Astilbe bloomed fantastically in the same border!

First order of tulips and ranunculus were a disappointment with only 4 tulips out of 22 growing and although the ranunculus grew leaves I never had any flowers and they never returned. I spoke to farmer gracy and they very kindly replaced my order but with different bulbs as original no longer available as was too late in season. So I ordered bearded iris (came to nothing this year. I have a 1cm shoot on it now so nothing this year) a Paeonia 'Bowl of Beauty' × 1 which has sent up leaves but again nothing this year, Begonia 'Picotee Sunburst' × 1 (3 tubers). They have started to flower, a little late as now into august and they are not the colour specified just a basic scarlet colour and Ranunculus 'Yellow' × 1 15 bulbs non of these came up. My sister also had ranunculus and hers never took either. Overall I have had a couple of bad experiences with my bulbs but the customer service were good. However I’m not paying for more bulbs that disappoint sorry

It looks as though your begonias may be incorrect unfortunately, if you wish to reach out to the team they can assist with this. Please note that it is normal for peonies and bearded iris to not flower in their first year as it takes perennial plants a bit of time to settle in. Ordered 12 bare roots and only one has grown but is not looking healthy. Contacted them and were quick to respond. They said it has been a very cool and wet summer this year so that is likely to have been the problem. Said they would give a refund but then found it was only half the amount I paid that had been refunded. I definitely won't be ordering again. Will grow my own from seed.

Planted bulbs of Allium azureum last Autumn but they never materialised. I planted in both containers and in borders. Disappointing.

Getting more and more disappointed at the quality of the plants ! I ordered 2/ Irises which neither grew , fair enough they gave me a refund - but now they have started to sprout . One in not an Iris at all! I phoned Farmer Gracy explaining things the girl was very condescending! Making very poor excuses! She said perhaps they were near other plants and they picked up the wrong one ! I thought what a pathetic excuse ! The plants are SO SMALL! and weedy. They have lost my custom .

Ordered 6 bare root lupins and planted in same pots and only one has taken am very disappointed with the results ,prob won’t be buying again .

Ordered 3 bare rooted geraniums for the spring only 1 grew, potted them up and was going to put them in the ground next spring Very disappointed won’t be buying anything else from you

First time ordering live plants from Farmer Gracy and I probably won’t again. I ordered the hosta mini collection which arrived in good time even if the box was damaged. Unfortunately one failed to grow, one was not a mini hosta and a third was not as expected. Only Blue Mouse Ears turned out to be correct. Customer Services didn’t bother replying to my email highlighting a problem. A very poor service.

Plants are great, can't fault the delivery but when things go wrong, customer service is discussing, I sent an email regarding my last order, no reply in over a week then I sent it again still no reply, messaged on Instagram had a message to say they would look into my email, the replied the next day, asking for questions I replied immediately. And all gone quiet ... please Farmer gracy reply to my email 🙏

I ordered the white hosta good service and delivery. It grew and we planted it out and it withered up and died. We had it for 2 seasons which the in the 1 st season it did turn green

I am very disappointed with the bare root Alstroemeria plants and bare root Gypsophila that you sent in March. I planted these in pots, exactly as instructed, and have kept them well watered in a sunny spot but only 3 of the Alstroemeria plants have come up out of the six purchased and the Gypsophila has not sprouted anything at all. I spent over £50 with you in the hope of raising some flowers to include in buttonholes for my son's wedding. I will not be ordering from your company again as I think this is poor value to have less than half of the plants grow.

Spent pounds on plants from this place only to find that 80% of them do not grow. Must admit that they did refund once I had complained and I thought it was a one off, and gave them the benefit of the doubt, but found the same again with my further order so won’t be placing any more orders from these.
