Hard to review properly but all of my tubers were broken in many places and I suspect gall on 2 of them. Hopefully I’m wrong - time will tell!

Hello, We are sorry to hear that there are concerns regarding your dahlia tubers. They can be quite fragile and during harvest they can suffer light damage. Bent tubers which appear cracked where they join the neck are common and this won't usually have an impact on the performance of the plant. If you wish to provide some photographs of the tubers in question, we can then asses them and offer reassurance regarding growth or arrange replacements if necessary. Have purchased from FG for many years and have found their customer service to be excellent. I recently purchased a rhizome of phlox and when received could clearly see that there was nothing in the bag with the compost! I contacted them and they immediately sent a replacement, but to be honest even that one was barely 3ins long! I have planted it in the greenhouse so it has every chance of developing but if it does not, they will know about it. I have 40 years of gardening experience and run my own gardening club but I sometimes wonder if its better to grow a well established plant locally and save the doubt.

Tubers arrive in average condition, many broken necks. In 2023 i made 5 new raised planters and stocked them with new tubers. In addition to those in the ground I lost 25% of my new stock to gall out of 100+ new tubers. Last year (2024) 15% evenly between 2 suppliers one of which were from FG. Since 2023 I have written the supplier on the back of each plastic plant tag. Last year my biggest loss to gall from FG was a three pack of Seniors Hope. Shiloh Noel, also a three pack, was mislabelled and not in fact SN. This year I’m pleasantly surprised that minimum breakage occurred in transit. On the plus side, the variety of dahlias from FG is excellent and the quality of full grown plants is good. Customer service is also good and tubers exhibiting gall before planting out are replaced. My recommendation to buyers, do not plant in communal areas for the first two years to avoid spreading gall to other plants, check regularly and dispose of in household waste not composting or in a recycling bin.

It can also occur of its own accord in some weather conditions. Typically, our dahlias do not have gall but please always contact us by emailing customercare@farmergracy.com including photos if you have any concerns about products we have sent to you so we can check and replace where needed. Hello, Dahlia tubers are naturally different shapes and sizes, often a tuber which appears small will still grow into a full-size flowering plant. One dahlia tuber looked really good, the other one was a bit smashed so a lot of the tubers were broken, but there should be enough left to grow a plant.

Love the quality of the plants. Unfortunately due to a mix up am still awaiting a peony. Customer service very responsive but have still to hear when I will receive the plant. X fingers its soon!

I live in the Southwest of France where winter temperatures seldom go dow to -3 (and for a very short period of time), and for having grown this grass over many years, I can tell you this grass is not hardy at all. Other gardeners have had the same results. So, it's not very honest to write it can cope with -5°C. Not a good point for you...sorry.

Hello, Some of our grasses are half hardy which means that they can tolerate temperatures down to around -5C, however their tolerance to sub-zero temperatures also depends on the soil and how water retentive it is, and how long the soil remains freezing. Customer care are happy to assist customers with making suitable plant choices, and it is also advised that half-hardy plants are offered protection over winter in case temperatures freeze for longer than usual. Very disappointed, I purchased 105 ranunculus bulbs of assorted colours. Only 35 are actually growing, 80 have turned to dust.

Keep ordering calla "Purple Hazel " for years with a hope to get one.Last year wrote special request.This type calla don't exist anymore. I can't understand why Farmer Gracy adding this variety as available for years if they don't have it.

Hello, Calla 'Purple Haze' has been part of our range for a number of years, we don't typically hear reports of this variety flowering incorrectly but we apologise if this has happened to you on more than one occasion. The colour can naturally vary slightly which can also depend on growing conditions, e.g. temperatures, light levels. Amaryllis Bulbs arrived twice with growing bud snapped off. If bulbs are budding, a paper cup placed over the bulb and firm paper wrapping would have avoided this. You have replaced, but what a palaver!

Our first order went missing so we had to order again and didn't get the exact order that we placed initially. The second order did arrive and all the bulbs seem fine and are planted.

Ordered 3 giant Alium bulbs and they looked great so went back on line and ordered 2 bags of 25 smaller alium bulbs. One pack looked great, quite big and how I’d expect them to look. The other bad of 25 were tiny, dried out, flakey and dusty. I planted them but I’m not holding out much hope that they’ll grow. They just looked very different to the other bag

I know this is not a FG issue however, I’ve just received my last order which wasn’t in a normal FG box. On opening the box the orange princess bag (-6 bulbs)was burst open and the bulbs that were loose x4 were damaged! There are a few other bulbs in the other bags squished! There is no packing list etc that normally comes with the order?

The most recent order I placed for Daffodils did not arrive in what I would call best condition two of the bulbs were on the soft side and the remainder were varied. Not what I expect from Farmer Gracy
