“Lovely hen house, reasonably priced and very easy to put together. I was very pleased with the quality of the house and my chucks seem to appreciate it too. Just a little niggle though the screws used to attach the ramp seem to be a bit on the short side and came away, but this was easy to fix by using slightly longer screws - apart from that - wonderful.”

“The coop we ordered arrived the next day and was really straight forward to put together. The service we received from eggshell online was absolutely fantastic. A small part had a minor fault and they replaced it the very next day free of charge - a real sign of great service. Highly recommended.”

“The Granary coop and run arrived quickly and proved easy to put together. I love the wire and the way it is I side the frame. One thing we HAD to complain about, with as yet no response, was the fact that the lifting roof tore off and blew across the garden during moderate winds. Thank goodness the girls were not yet in the coop but we're safely inside my house.! We could have lost our girls. Subsequently we have screwed the roof down, leaving us disappointed that we are unable to utilise this nifty design. A hook or lock of some sort needs to be added to the house.”

“Easy to assemble, less than one hour. All fixings sorted in separate poly bags with extra screws too. Ikea please take note! Nice little hen house at a very good price. Just waiting for the creocote to dry and then the chooks will have a lovely new coop. Would recommend to others, well done egg shell!”

“The hen house seems of reasonable quality for the price but the instructions are printed so faintly they are barely readable and appear to be pretty scant. I have not attempted to navigate them yet!”

“Just taken delivery of hen coup with double run. Arrived on time. Easy to build with all parts present. Time will tell about quality but looks really good and plan to get 4 hens to start with as does not look suitable for many more.”

“Ordered on the Monday, arrived on the Tuesday. Put it together on my own within 3 hours. Gave it a lick of paint. 2 hens and one bantie rooster are really enjoying their new home. Instructions basic but straightforward. Thanks Eggshell. I shall be ordering from you again.”

“I ordered my Buckingham coop on Monday morning and and paid for 1-2 day delivery. I had a phone call on the Monday afternoon from a nice man telling me to expect delivery on the Tuesday. It arrived as promised, all securely packed in two boxes. I admit, I have yet to put the coop together but looking at the pieces and the instructions, it looks fairly simple with all screws and fittings supplied. Thanks for a great service.”

“I don't know what I had expected as this was the first Hen house I have had. It was a lighter weight than I had expected. The design and manufacture was very good. a couple of the guides on the nest boxes had come off in transit but with a G clamp and some PVA glue it's absolutley fine. I like the look of it too although I'm sure that the chickens won't notice. For the cost I think it is very good value for money. P.S. I expected that it comes as a flat pack but it would have been nice to have be told so beforehand.”

“Cocoon 5000 chicken house: Initially 2 units were delivered when we ordered one but the courier took the second one away so this presented no problem for us. There are a few design problems which we had to overcome as we assembled the kit. The perches are designed to fit just a few cm above the floor level - this is clearly a mistake: we moved them to a more sensible position in the eaves and screwed them into place, which also strengthens the top of the house as the perches double up as braces. The catches on the drop-down doors are very flimsy and there is only one, where 2 are needed: we improvised a rabbit-hutch style catch from a spare piece of wood and a screw. It would be better if one at least was a conventional pop-hole that could be connected to an automatic opener/closer. The drop-down doors are also rather flimsy, The 2 section roof, which opens for cleaning, looked likely to blow open in a strong wind so we added a catch to stop this happening. The floor of the nest boxes havevery little support - so far we have left these but it looks like some additional support/bracing will be needed as they look very weak and could easily break. So, although it is mostly well made and designed, a few errors and some slightly under-speced components really need improving. The branding is also bizarre: cocoon with the initial c and o minimised is hardly pc!”
