I bought a Betty a short while ago.Initial impression good, quite well made and good design. Eggshell claim on their website that the houses are foxproof - they are not! I went out one morning a couple of weeks ago to let the hens out and found all dead inside the house. The metal floor had been ripped off from one corner and the fox had gone into the house. The fixings for the metal floor are flimsy, small wooden beads fixed with short panel pins. The wide wooden struts supporting the metal sheet had simply been bitten off. The metal is very thin and my fox had no problem in puncturing it with its teeth and then tearing it off. I do realise that a determined fox will have a serious go at any structure but I do think that the floor arrangement of the Betty is a weak bit of design. So far all I've had from Eggshell is sympathy but no real advice or suggestions as to how to make a strong, fox proof floor. Be warned!
