I put in for home insurance building and contents done go compare got the best price at £208 pounds when I got onto the company with the best price the told me it was £500 pound so what’s the use of comparing it and wasting my time I had already given the all the information they asked for and that way a wouldn’t recommend if you can’t get the deal I wanted from confused I was qauted 500 by one solution and I was qauted £208 when I done confused. The more I searched the more the insurance cost went up for no apparent reason. Insurance is a broken service and a rip off in the UK. I ONLY reason I used Confused was due to the £20 reward.

Hello, Thank you for your review and I’m sorry the prices you received are too expensive. As we are a comparison website, we don’t actually calculate any prices. The prices displayed on your results page are all calculated and returned by our panel of insurance providers, based on the information you entered on our website. They work out the premium based on claims statistics gathered for other drivers with similar details and some insurers do change their rates frequently. If you would like to query any of your prices, we would recommend calling the insurer directly and they should be able to explain this to you in more detail. I hope this helps.

By taking out home insurance with Confused.com I was expecting to receive a £20.00 voucher for Lidl when I tried to redeem my voucher I was told I was not eligible because I use a cash back site

I think confused is okay, very disappointed though. I use the facility twice last year for insurance being offered a Lidl token, which I never received. I did contact Confused.com who tried to be helpful still didn’t work. If it is going to be offered, it should be made much simpler to use.

I wanted insurance quotes to cover flood but it didn’t. Why contact me with cheap quotes that don’t apply? Waste of time. Automating everything hasn’t worked. There’s no customer service and everything is driven by profit. This survey is waste of time. Remove me from your spam list.

The process of entering my details to find a quote was relatively painless. The top two results were both Aviva. When I selected to buy either, the Aviva website immediately declined to continue as they were unable to offer me the insurance quoted. When I attempted to obtain a quotation directly from Aviva, the cost was almost double the price quoted on Confused.com. A bit pointless really!

Cannot understand I found what I thought was a good insurance at a fair price. Went on to sign up for it and then right at the finish and without any reason given it said sorry there is a problem and just cut me off.

Very disappointed, I tried to take up insurers ,that you listed for me , to find that the transfer to there site unsuccessful, so tried another same thing, saying technical error, another saying bad gateway, so in the end was left to looking for companies that display phone number. I went to a test site and said there's a problem with your site, along with many like my self , so if this happens again when my next search is due then I'll move to another price comparison site.

It's open to abuse. My experience was an insurer, Adrian Flux, got our details, give a better then everyone else price which we went ahead with. Then the insurer contacted to say not enough info, (on the online form) which means a massive premium increase or you must pay to cancel what you bought less than 24 hours earlier. So the price I was quoted was artificial, not true, so how can that work for a price comparison site? It was just a con to hook me in. It's a well known scam method but I'm not happy it's happened here, loses trust for confused.com who I believe operate in good faith but there's no controls here.

I didn’t have a good experience. I tried to claim my £20 reward for purchasing insurance through confused.com and after half a dozen emails back and forth, with little progress, I was so fed up I cancelled my policy and went direct to a supermarket provider instead who offered a similar incentive.
