Tried to get a comparison to our current policy. Liked Aviva but when I went into the detail (such as the accidental damage clauses) i found that the price was 35% more expensive. So we stayed with current provider

They work out the premium based on claims statistics gathered for others with similar details and some insurers do change their rates frequently. Home insurance is very serious business. Once I've searched for quotes on your comparison site, which then results in a list of quote prices as a result of that search, those quote prices once given, SHOULD last till the renewal date. Far too many insurers provide quotes after my search, that only last till midnight that same night. This is very bad practice and places pressure on the customer to make rush decisions. This does not give the customer time to:- 1. go through the process of checking whether any 'Special terms' are imposed by this insurer where the same special terms aren't imposed with other insurers. 2. try prices with other types of cover added or subtracted such as accidental cover, adding a bicycle, emergency cover. 3. read through the policy to ensure there aren't any sneaky exclusions, or that a toilet in a room has to be acknowledged as a second bathroom. There is NO excuse for Confused.com to allow this bad practice. You have the power to insist on quotes once given must last till renewal date, and the power to exclude insurers who insist on doing this

The time a quote is valid for varies between each of the providers on our panel. Because confused usually allow insurance companies to auto renew car insurance, the particular company I used to insure my car was Yoga/Swinton however because I like many other people change insurance providers each year, "which is why confused exists" makes it hard to cancel Their cover!

Sorted out the House Insurance very quickly. Only problem one Insurance provider,Allianz bit of a nuisance. Constantly phoning so much i had to block the number. I went with Admiral had what I wanted, not just the best quote: Allianz was 3 times this quote.

I selected a quote of £294 for buildings & contents insurance & went to Hastings' website to purchase but price was over £360 so I phoned them. Was told they could not do my chosen policy at price quoted on confused.com. Suggested they stop promoting policies at prices they do not fulfill. Ended up negotiating a better deal with my current insurer (AA). Stressful waste of time searching confused.com
