They work out the premium based on claims statistics gathered for others with similar details and some insurers do change their rates frequently. Sorted out the House Insurance very quickly. Only problem one Insurance provider,Allianz bit of a nuisance. Constantly phoning so much i had to block the number. I went with Admiral had what I wanted, not just the best quote: Allianz was 3 times this quote.

I selected a quote of £294 for buildings & contents insurance & went to Hastings' website to purchase but price was over £360 so I phoned them. Was told they could not do my chosen policy at price quoted on confused.com. Suggested they stop promoting policies at prices they do not fulfill. Ended up negotiating a better deal with my current insurer (AA). Stressful waste of time searching confused.com

All good for prices BUT couldn’t complete on the site so had to connect directly with insurers to purchase and therefore couldn’t claim a gift from you🤷‍♂️

Left more confused than I started, which is probably more to do with insurance companies algorithms than Confused.com itself. This time round shopping around certainly didn’t work for me and I ended up going back to my previous insurer.

The app kept scrolling back with the same questions, and asking unnecessary questions, try to hack for more business, so we went direct to Tesco house & contents insurance, we found the process took too long to complete.....

Between entering my information and handing over to my chosen insurance quote, a number of details were lost, including my joint policy holder. I ended up cancelling the policy and using a different comparison site.

Mostly use Confused but this time was disappointed that most companies found it v difficult to separate ’home’ from ‘contents’ insurance. Also, did not fully appreciate the difference between ‘leasehold’ freehold or renting. Finally, Im in a development that is Listed. Although Im not in a Listed building, Im in a separate property which is at the rear of the Listed building.

Unfortunately the lowest price quotes did not stay that way as soon as I tried to buy them. Some even tripled in price!
