Couldn’t complete with confused.com when it came to pay so had to go directly to Hastings to complete.

I had chosen a new home insurance company but I had a good deal of trouble actually paying online. I did manage it eventually but it was not easy at all.

The insurance I have been offered and have paid for was rejected the next day by the insurer who then told me I still had to pay a £55 fee to confused. Utterly infuriating and incomprehensible.

Although saga was reasonable price, the payment would not go through so had to resort to more expensive quote. Wasted so much time trying to sort out.

Hello, Thank you for your review and I’m sorry the prices you received are too expensive. As we are a comparison website, we don’t actually calculate any prices. The prices displayed on your results page are all calculated and returned by our panel of insurance providers, based on the information you entered on our website. They work out the premium based on claims statistics gathered for other drivers with similar details and some insurers do change their rates frequently. If you would like to query any of your prices, we would recommend calling the insurer directly and they should be able to explain this to you in more detail. I hope this helps.

On completing the form and speaking to the recommended insurer, they were not able to help due to subsidence at the property. This subsidance is covered by a preious insurance policy claim which they are in process to cary out the work to the property.

Upon recommendation and shown 5* rating, we proceeded with Onlinequote Direct which resulted in the most terrible experience ever: 1. we did not receive the policy documents despite correct email address (see below); 2. for several days, we could not reach anyone at Onlinequote Direct or our call was declined; 3. when we finally got in touch with them and wanted to cancel immediately, they asked whether they can send the documents to our email address. So they knew our email address all the time but did not send the documents despite the fact we had paid instantly. They then said it would cost us £30 to cancel, as stated in the documents we never received. 4. After the phone conversation, we received an email stating our policy would be cancelled after 2 weeks! By then we had queried with our bank to block the transaction but it had gone through already. We then queried their unacceptable behaviour, after which we received a refund minus £30. In summary, a terrible experience with a miserable provider.

Tried to get house insurance and it didn't recognise the post code. I had to enter it manually (not a problem) and then after answering every question for 10 minutes my quotes came up but none were able to proceed because none of them recognised the post code. What a waste of time. Why did it make me enter it manually and then answer all the questions? Should have just stated 'postcode not recognised go elsewhere'.

The reason I have given low scores is your site quotes one figure then when I have gone to take out insurance with the chosen company the price goes up by £50.00. My details are the same , I find this misleading and a total waist of time.

I have renewed with Confused .com, but was very disappointed for 2 reasons. By the time , I had added on the appropriate necessities, the insurance premium , had gone up by £50!!!! Then I wanted to claim my £20 Lidl reward and it had disappeared from the site; so very dissatisfied!!!
