i've previously used Confused.com without complaint, but this time - I purchased the best quote offered but the insurer charged me an additional £30. I immediately cancelled, but am still waiting for an explanation from Confused.com. In the meantime, they emailed me to offer feedback on my purchase - which is why I'm writing this.

I used Topcashback to go through confused.com. I managed to get a series of quotes and opted for Sky Protect as my chosen Buildings and contents insurance provider. I was directed to their website and filled completed the additional information they requested when I got to the payment page I submitted my payment details and then "Confused. Com" they couldn't take payment. So I came out of the site and Confused. Com and went somewhere else

They work out the premium based on claims statistics gathered for others with similar details and some insurers do change their rates frequently. Got all the way through gave all my card details and then it asked me to prove it was me. Send a text using code I did not understand it because I was on my tablet and not a mobile phone. Now I am worrying in case you take my money. I will not use my tablet again.

We start this review with a pointless question. My ‘0’ comments are not critical of your system, simply that recommend to a friend is not something that ever comes up in conversation. I’m in no position to offer advice to other people who are probably better informed anyway, so no, I won’t be recommending because it’s not my intention.

1. The link from the Confused website to the Halifax website did not work. 2. No acknowledgment from Confused or Halifax to confirm receipt of my payment. 3. The price quoted on the Confused site, which I thought I had agreed to, was about £50 less than I paid.

They don’t get back to you about the rewards but take your money for the insurance. Make you wait far too long and I’ve missed out too because I’m of it.

Can't give you a rating because although I have been on your site and requested a quote for my home insurance which is due on 24 January I have not as yet made a purchase. I used the site last year and placed my home insurance through your site. I've had my renewal and the premium has increased by 66%. I have found a quote on your site which is a similar premium to last year so I will be renewing though the Confused. Com site in the next day or so.

I found a home insurance policy with Churchill which I wished to buy via Confused.com. However, I was unable to follow it through to the Churchill website as my login credentials were not transferred. I tried this several times and using different browsers. I phoned Churchill but they were unable to see my application, and taking the same deal direct with them would have been far more expensive. I was eventually able to bye the same policy via Moneysupermarket.com, but it cost me £20 more than what I was quoted on Confused.com. I found it disappointing not to be able to get the deal I saw because of what appeared to be a technical issue on the Confused.com website, hence the poor review. Of course, if you were to refund the £20 I lost, I would feel differently about it ! ….

I chose Admiral from your selection and have done all the form filling. Admiral payment system will not take payment after a number of attempts and rejects my card number early on in the process. The card is from a highly respected UK banking group and I have used it successfully for many years including the past few days. The rejection is stressful and has left me in limbo as to how to complete the transaction with Admiral. So I don't know whether I have purchased of not and how my credit rating might be impacted by the rejection. The card is 100% ok and is fully funded.
