I ordered some full price shoes and they were fine but not to my taste. I also ordered some shoes that were reduced, great shoes, look great and I thought I had found my new work shoes. However they had a terrible crease over the front, clearly been worn and sent back and put in the sale. Are all shoes like this from Clinkards or was I unlucky. Back to Next or M&S for me....

Very disappointed as i was sent a bag which was very different from the colour in the picture on the website. Customer care said i need to return and order a new one....poor customer service in my opinion.

I ordered a pair of shoes that had soiled soles and had obviously been worn before. I emailed the customer service email address with photos and heard nothing. Terrible customer service.

I paid for express delivery as we were going away, the shoes didn’t come until 5 days later, I’d asked after 2 days for them to be sent to a different address as we were now away. They replied to say yes, but they got sent to our address anyway. Finally got the shoes after a week and a half, but they weren’t the shoes we’d ordered!!!!! I gave up and kept them because my son needed them desperately but not impressed at all!!!

I’m really sorry to say I was disappointed and concerned after my recent visit purely to return shoes. There was no social distancing in store, several people were not wearing face coverings and no monitoring of volume of shoppers coming into the shop was evident. It did not appear to be Covid safe at all and I certainly would avoid visiting at this time.

Item was found cheaper in Clarks, Clinkards are refunding the difference but would not of known if hadnt checked.

Very disappointed. Was delivered miles way from my collection point, then agreed to delivered to my home address, waiting all day. On the end hasn't arrive. Next day has to call them again..:(( Ofer me refund...

The shipping are very very bad, the shipment are stuck 3 weeks in the same place from 24-07-2020 until today!!!!! I can’t choose if I want premium shipping company or stander! I will never buy from this website.

Love shopping at the Meadow Hall shop as service standards are exceptional. Shopping on line has been very different although the ‘phone help line has been exemplary. 2 of 5 pairs ordered online were faulty and 1 of 5 was sent in an incorrect size. I returned all 5 pairs and don’t think I’ll order online again as it was such hard work and very time consuming sorting out the muddle and going to the Post Office with items to return on numerous occasions.

I visited the Newbury store for the first time ever on the 3rd Aug 2020 too get my daughter some school shoes. Sue served us and she was phenomenal and very friendly, however, when we got too the till Sarah I believe her name was, was incredibly rude, looking down her nose at us, and had a poor attitude. After our good service with Sue we were very disappointed by Sarah’s general attitude.

Disgusted I had to pay £8.20 to send back my purchase to ensure safe arrival of them. They were £80 and l would expect free returns on this price. Also sent another item back costing £52 and again had to pay £8.20 for a safely insured return. Disgraceful!!! Never will buy on line again from Charles Clinkard. And zero recommendation for this website. I hope sincerely that you publish this on your review site.

Hello Thankyou for your review. With regards to returns, we offer a free UK standard delivery with no minimum spend, however we do ask customers to pay the return cost. You can return to a Charles Clinkard store or to our Head Office. We recommend a tracked service, as we do not take responsibility for the parcel until it has been signed for at our Head Office. A Collect Plus label can be purchased through the returns section of our website, this standardises the price to £4.49. This covers up to 10kg of returns and is useful for multiple purchases or heavier items. Had to sadly return the lovely boots as they were too tall and baggy on the legs . Not happy about paying for return .It would be helpful if you put the height and calve measurements then I would not have ordered them and it wouldn’t of cost me £11.00 to return them

I ordered some chelsea boots which turned up in good time. The problem was that they were shop soiled. They had obviously been used in the shop as they had the sale label in and it was worn from people trying them on. I was not very impressed.

Very very bad service from the shop in Summertown Oxford. I bought a pair of slippers, size 11, four weeks ago. When I got them home, although I'd asked for 11s, I saw "size 9" embossed on the soles. Because I was self-isolating, I couldn't go again until yesterday. The shop was out of stock of 11s, but ordered some on the web. Now I've just been emailed to say they're out of stock of 11s completely. So I have to go back to get my refund, then to another — hopefully more competent — retailer. Both trips put me at risk from COVID-19. That's why I went to Clinkard in the first place: a small shop, in which I felt safe. To sum up: you gave me the wrong size; then you were out of stock; now you're out of stock everywhere in the UK, it would appear. Are you really saying you cannot find me any size-11 slippers, of any style? Why not ask your stock-control system whether other branches have them, and let me buy those? Utterly rubbish service. I would have given 0 stars, but the interface wouldn't let me.

I ACTUALLY NEVER EVEN RECEIVED THESE SHOES WHICH MY HUSBAND HAD PURCHASED FOR MY BIRTHDAY. APPARENTLY THEY WERE RETURNED BY THE CARRIER AND HAD NEVER BEEN DELIVERED TO ME. I DID RING YOUR FIRM AND TOLD YOU HOW DISAPPOINTED I WAS THAT THEY WERE RETURNED TO YOU, I SPOKE TO SOMEBODY CALLED TYLER AND HE WAS EQUALLY MYSTIFIED - MAYBE YOUR CARRIER CAN EXPLAIN -NOT DOING YOUR BUSINESS ANY GOOD WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND HOW MANY TIMES IS IT HAPPENING. YOU SAID YOU WERE REFUNDING ME EVEN WHILST I WAS WAITING FOR MY DELIVERY. THE GROUP WERE DPD AND DELIVERY WAS DUE ON 23RD AND MY BIRTHDAY WAS THE 26TH.

Returns can be taken into a Charles Clinkard store or returned to our Head Office. We do recommend a tracked service, however it is up to the customer to return whichever method is convenient. If the item is unworn outside and in good condition with original box then you are welcome to return these to us for a refund. We have 365 days return policy in place and simply return the items with the paperwork and on receipt we can refund or exchange.
