Shoes did not fit. Concerned that I needed to pay £10 to return the item: surely there should be some discount or free returns?

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. As we ask customers to cover the cost of returns postage, this means you are free to find a service suitable for you. We offer a Yodel label from as little as £4.49 on the returns page of our website. With the Post Office we recommend a second class tracked service, they may advise higher prices depending on the weight and value of your parcel. The on line ordering was fine, but I chose to collect from the Cheltenham shop and the staff there are not great. They don't listen, the customer service and experience is very poor.

I paid for next day delivery as I needed the shoes immediately. When they didn't arrive, I was told by one of your employees that next day delivery means next working day and a refund wasn't an option, as it stated that in the terms and conditions. I said that maybe next day delivery payments shouldn't be able to be processed on Fridays, Saturdays or before bank holidays. I asked for the money I paid for the delivery could be refunded as a goodwill gesture and it would help retain my custom in the future. I will be buying school shoes for the next 7 years at around £100-£150 per year, but as I haven't heard back from you,regarding the £5.99 delivery charge, I will spend that money elsewhere.

As suggested, orders placed after 5pm during the week, will be processed as soon as possible, but may be dispatched the next working day. Any orders placed at the weekend will not be dispatched until the Monday for Tuesday delivery. This is explained at the checkout (and our t's&c's) but apologies if you missed it. Not happy will be returning my purchase. I purchased size 10 ladles sketchers trainers. Advertised under the ladies section. I was really chuffed as Size 10 ladies shoes are hard to come by. They were not perfect when trying on, width mainly and my heal bone coming in contact with the shoe. But I usually have to compromise. I spoke to the staff in the shop about how amazed that they had stocked a ladies size 10. They also agreed with me. It was only when I got them home I noticed on the box that they were mens! No wonder they did fit properly, I will return when I can get into town again! Wasted journey wasted my time.

Unfortunately my items arrived too late for the event I wanted them for. I can't believe that it takes 5 days to dispatch an order and 7 days for it to arrive. I would have been willing to pay for express delivery but in any case you should be able to process and dispatch orders quicker than that! You are competing with retailers who offer next day delivery as standard.... I won't be ordering from you again.

Very poor client service Charles Clinkard delivered the incorrect sandals which I posted back on the same day. One week has passed and I have yet to receive the correct order. I sent an email to client service representative but no response received

Ordered,had confirmation,got told delivery courier was trying to deliver but we weren't available however subsequent email said the item was out of stock,so not sure what was being delivered? Terrible service,would not recommend

Glad you asked! I tried to look for shoes in the shop but was soon driven out by the pop musc playing on the loudspeakers. There's no need for music at all and then, to make matters worse, there was a particular pop song that took me staight back about 45 years . This is too much to bear when trying to buy shoes. Badly done, Charles Clinkard.

I am so disappointed that I can no long get children’s shoes in store at the Cribbs Causeway branch of Charles Clinkard. I have a child with exceptionally wide feet and previously we have had to try multiple styles and sizes to find a suitable match. I went into the store to be told I could order children’s shoes on line and if I then took them into store they would check the fit. That really isn’t possible for my child, I would have to order and pay for multiple pairs of shoes up front. No one even offered to measure his feet for me. Not what I would expect from this company and I won’t be using it in future for my children or myself!

I am still waiting for my shoes ordered on Sat 27th April at Ilkley. having been dispatched and supposedly sent to the designated collection point of Commonside Post Office at Lytham on May 1st ,,,,,,, they were mysteriously supposedily sent back to uou .......!!!!!????? Why no one seemes to know as they were never received there or at my address ..... I await your comment - and the shoes

After having shopped at Charles Clinkard for over 7 years, I was extremely disappointed at the fact I had to pay delivery and then nearly £10 to return sandals. I will NEVER order anything else from your company. NEARLY £15 for the privilege of trying on one pair of sandals is extreme.

Thank you for your review, We have a free delivery service for orders over £40, so there was no delivery charge on your order. With regard to returns, you can take back to a Charles Clinkard store, take to any courier or postal service of choice or buy a label on our website with collect plus. Second class Royal Mail would be around £3.50, our website label is £4.49 and covers up to 10 kilo so several items can be returned at one time. An overnight postal service is more expensive and this may be what you had chosen. I hope that this information helps for future reference. Kind regards, Janice - customer services

We come to clinks for my sons shoes and have done so for 13 years, as you stock the best selection available and as he has wide feet it’s nice to try them on and now to my horror the two local (40 miles away) stores no longer stock children’s shoes and inform me they are only available online! This is such a disappointment as it’s hard enough to find shoes to fit and now I have to play guess the size to see if they will fit or order multiple at my cost to get him a pair to fit and then take take out of my day to return the others. We will be looking elsewhere for shoes now.
