Purchased my BIBO Classic around a year ago, and I must say it is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time! Because everybody in our household has a physical disability, we find it impossible to use a standard kettle. For the 6 years prior to owning the BIBO, I rented a bottled water cooler but it was always a pain to change the bottles, the heating elements never made the water hot enough, and the cold water didn't seem to be as cold as it could be. Teas and coffees were just not nice at all, the hot water would not dissolve gravy granules, and I was always wary of plumbed-in options, as I felt that our tap water was of poor quality. Water coolers that had decent filtration, UV treatment, and could provide good hot and cold water temperatures were in excess of £1500. Enter BIBO. It serves all our needs, and provides brilliant hot and cold water, and requires very little maintenance. So, why did I knock off one star? 1) Water pressure affects the machine badly. I have had to adjust ours by very slowly turning the blue isolation tap on the plastic pipe (supplied) down to about 1/4 open. If the tap is fully open, the water gushes through too fast and splashes out. This can be resolved by fitting a pressure regulator - which I found by looking through water cooler websites, but one is not included. I intend to buy and fit one to solve this problem for good. 2) The manufacturer guarantee is 1 year. This did make me wonder if the machine would last, as I felt that the extended warranty seemed to be quite expensive. I made the decision not to extend the warranty, and decided that if the machine fails now that it is just over a year old that I would not replace it, and will look at purchasing something else. In this era, I feel that they should be offering at least a 3 year warranty as standard - to reinforce the fact that it is a reliable machine and give some confidence in the fact that it won't break down easily. That said, I feel these are minor things - and I still love my BIBO.

Hi John, thanks for your comprehensive review & we are delighted your BIBO has proven helpful for you at home. We have many customers with disabilities as well as many older customers who are nervous of handling a heavy & very hot kettle or saucepan. The BIBO Classic does indeed rely on water pressure to drive the water through the hot & cold tanks instead of employing a pump or a gravity fed system both of which have limitations. Occasionally if the water pressure is high this can result in an overly fast flow rate. The BIBO incorporates a pressure reducing valve (PRV) with is there to protect it against pressure surges but will not ‘adjust’ the pressure & flow rate. You’ve done the right thing in adjusting the flow with the shut off valve. We constantly review our warranty policy & may indeed extend our standard warranty in the future.

Fantastic device, the whole family drinks much more water and having super clean cold and boiling water on tap is something that I couldn't now live without.

You recently sent replacement filters which were of the old type. I then phoned you and you promptly sent the correct filters. We still have the incorrect filters do you want them back, and if so please tell me what you will do

We got our bibo after getting rid our American style fridge with plumbed water. We missed having chilled filtered water on tap. Bibo is even better giving both chilled & hot water whenever required. A really great product well worth every penny.

Hi Hilary, thanks for your comments. :)

Since buying the bibo, we have enjoyed not having to wait for a kettle to boil and a lovely ice cold glass of water on a hot summers day. It was very easy to plumb in, the hardest part was to decide where to put it in our kitchen.

So lovely and easy to use a touch of a button and hot water or cold. A little drip from the tray but easy to mop up Would recommend to those who find weight difficult.

Hi Sue, thanks for the comments. Keep an eye on the dripping as it could be an indication of a lime scale build up. If it is, then don't forget to use our hot tank cleaning kit to flush the scale out! :)

Hi Irene, many thanks for your feedback. We do offer a filter pack delivery service where a years’ supply of filters costs £74.50, equivalent to just 20p per day! Please do let me know if you would like to be on the service, rather than purchasing the filters outright - customers@bibowater.co.uk

Moved house recently and was worried that I might be without my precious BIBO which we now can't live without! Fortunately, your installer was able to come on the day requested and did a great job amidst the chaos. Thank you.

A Bibo water machine is one of those pieces of equipment you dont realise how much you value it until you go away on holiday and have to resort to chilling water and using a kettle. Constant water for making tea and coffee is highly efficient, no wasting of time or boiling more water than required. Using Bibo for cooking vegetables and pasta is perfect as there is no residue or nasty debris also going into the pan. Our cold water supply is delivered to the house from piping just below the surface so having cold water was impossible, it was always luke warm, now with Bibo it is perfect for drinks and we have saved money by avoiding buying sodas and other canned or bottled drinks. For our family of 6 it has been a great investment and providing you follow the instructions to clean and maintain the machine it runs perfectly. Graham Crawshaw

Have found the Bibo Water very useful even though the replacement units are quite expensive. Unfortunately it is now leaking when I use it which means it is out of action, which is quite distressing.

I now couldn't live without my Bibo, one of the best things we have bought as a family, we all use it so much. It's so convenient , you very quickly take it for granted. The thing I like is there is no wastage, I used to run the tap for cold water all the time, if it broke today would be ordering a new one tommorow, I've had mine 3 years now and it's never let me down. The service is great too, thanks Bibo! Zoe Robinson
