“BES organised the immediate delivery of the 12 Stadium soffit vents which I ordered, so no complaint there. (See Order No.2674689). However whilst I understand BES' desire to cover its costs by standardising its smaller item delivery charges, I consider it to be totally unacceptable that a feather-lightweight item costing £3.72 +VAT should have incurred a delivery charge of £4.95 +VAT, Total package cost £10.40, when 90% of the package weight consisted of BES' heavyweight - probably well in excess of half a kilo - product catalogue and miscellaneous other sales promotional material, all of which is no doubt available on-line, in this era when we are constantly being told to save trees and the Planet by not printing off anything which is not absolutely essential. There can be no possible justification for BES to have levied a disproportionately high delivery charge on a new customer, predominantly to cover the cost of mailing its own heavy weight catalogue which I did not ask for, thereby more than doubling the cost of the very light-weight item which I actually ordered.
