“I have been searching for Belted Galloway for a very long time and find most sites say 'Rare breed' which, to me is like going into a vintners and asking for a bottle of red. Dawn was incredibly kind and went out of her way to give me a magnificent fore rib, shin and oxtail Belted Galloway. It was so! worth it. Thank you, and here's to the next!”

“So far meat is good but to be expected when compared to supermarket lower quality. However, use by dates were too short. Beef roast was 8 days till use by. Surely that could have been >20 days not 8.”

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. All our produce is packed to order on the day of despatch, and none of our items are frozen. We do this to maximise shelf life and quality - we’re not sure how we could adapt our systems to better this, particularly given our products are often aged prior to packing. I’m aware some imported beef products have a longer shelf life - this is due to them being packed when very fresh/ unaged, which is something we would not consider from a quality perspective. “First time trying Swaledale Butchers, and I’m genuinely impressed. They have a great variety of meats and poultry, and what really attracted me was their large selection of fresh, organic, grass-fed options and for poultry, free-range organic. The range is massive, with cuts and items you’d usually only find in restaurants. Delivery was spot-on everything arrived well packed and perfectly fresh. I’ll definitely be placing weekly orders from now on and getting my meat and poultry from here instead of supermarkets. The quality difference between Swaledale and supermarket butchers is huge. The supermarket stuff just doesn’t compare. I really hope they keep the same high standard and quality because I’ll be using them regularly going forward.”

“Good quality meat and saausages delivered as promised. The porchetta was wonderful, however, the skin needs to be scored fully through and in narrower strips to allow for easy carving in portion sized slices. As soon as you take the crackling off to carve, it falls apart loosing the plate appeal.”
