“Packaging was good but moisture naturally makes some of the labels loosen. There is a comprehensive list of contents so this is not a problem. Only eaten the belly pork so far but everything looks good, especially the venison which is being cooked this weekend. Thank you, Swaledale”

“Had a delivery problem but Swaledale Butchers quickly resolved and although that meant my order arrived a couple of days later than expected, no real drama. Only had the chops so far but they were very good and look forward to tucking into more slow cooked mutton over the next few weeks.”

“High quality meat & excellent timely delivery. The only reason I am not rating 5 stars again is that the loin needed a bit more trimming than usual and the haunch steaks will probably break when turned in the pan. But still my preferrred source for venison.”

“Service and quality great - a bit disappointing was the condition of the sausages they looked like they had been battered and squashed together in transit - on opening the pack I could reshape them”

“The only criticism I have is that there were only 4 ice packs in the box this time as opposed to 7 in the last order when the meat was kept much cooler. Otherwise, a good service as usual.”

“Very good quality and delicious sausages and burgers. Only issue was sirloin steak which didn't smell right but the team at Swaledale provided a voucher to compensate think a leak had occurred in the vacuum pack. Very quick response to e-mail no hassles. Would order again very happy to find truly free range products that are also suitable for coeliacs.”

“Great quality, unusual cuts, I like the fact it's delivered fresh so I can freeze at home. My only (small) criticism and reason for 4 stars, is the packaging. I now have stacks of their ice bags!”

Hi Bev, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Great to hear you’ve been enjoying our produce. Regarding ice packs, I’m not sure quite what an alternative would be - it’s worth noting the contents are entirely safe to empty into your sink, or even water your plants. “High quality meat plus appreciation of the promise that it's not previously frozen. Other online butchers have been less consistent. It would be helpful to have more options regarding size, trim etc.”
