About Mountain Dog:

Mountain Dog are proudly the UK's Premier Dog Outfitter.
Established as a home-based business in 2017 when our border collie pup, Denver, joined the family. Since then our business has grown rapidly alongside this fluff ball who still acts as our ambassadog and chief tester of many products.

Today we have now served well over 150,000 customers and our business, whilst still small and family focused, occupies over 5000 square feet and is full of amazing dog products for the active and not so active pup alike.

“Ordered for Xmas. Just arrived today 27th. Not the best delivery. But that could have been the time of year. Product wise. It looks to be just what I wanted. A rechargeable light for my dogs collar.”

“The product is great and it is easy to buy, the sizing was unusual. The worst aspect was returns, no free return, and then you have to reorder the new size and it means if you have used an offer to make the product affordable you loose the discount, to get the product that fits. This would make me question buying from mountain dog again”

With regards to returns, we are a small business in which we are simply not able to make the Margin in regard to offering free returns. We have had to take into account the cost of living rising which has caused increase in Mountain Dog HQ's bills including standard carriage charges. “Not at all easy to get a dog into, and I think the sizing guide isn't quite correct. I got the large based on measurements as per the website and it seems on the small side. However in trying to get him in I got grass and mud scuffs on it so doubt am exchange would be acceptable. I am sure I will be glad for it when we are hiking and he gets tired! Bag seems sturdy enough.”

“I’ve given 3 stars as once you manage to get through (on the phone) they are helpful. However all email correspondences were completely ignored with no acknowledgment at all even though you email the address provided on their website”

“I was happy with the length of the lead but thought the lead would have been made of double webbing. As it’s only single my dog has been able to easily chew it and once I’d purchased it I looked online and it had been reduced in price.”

“K9 pop up dog kennel - looks great, hopefully puppy will like it,will be great for trips to the beach. . Really really really really really hard to get it back into it's bag. 20 attempts and got it back in once despite watching youtube videos.”

“I love the Tumbler Balls. I got small squeaky Chuckit balls for my Freis which were a waste of money. One arrived without a squeak but had fallen out of its' card carrier into the box, the other upon testing gently just pressing 1/4 inch squeaked once! Very fragile, my DeeDee is still disappointed when she picks her ball to play with. Delivery seemed to take an age too. I am looking for alternative suppliers for hopefully a better outcome.”

“Bought from Mountain Dog in the past and been happy enough. This time I was much less impressed. The lead I ordered from the website isn't strong enough for my (medium sized) dog. The lead's width and the maximum weight of the dog it could be used with wasn't included in the description. The return wasn't automatic. I had to apply to return. And pay for that return. Compared to other online retailers, this is a poor service. I'm much less likely to use Mountain Dog again.”

Hurtta rigorously test their products before release, and as a result of their findings, decided against a weight limit for the Weekend Warrior Dog Leash. With regards to returns, we are sorry that you feel let down by our services. As a small business, we are unable to supply free returns which is why our company provides a shipping label at a charge of £3.99. We understand that not everyone wants to pay £3.99 which is why you are more than welcome to pay for your postage with another courier. “Bought for my caviller King Charles (who is long and lean) - product quality is great, very useful instructions etc. however 2 challenges for my dog - hates the harness being pulled off over his head (only way to do it without loads of fiddling to loosen it to be bigger) and it looks uncomfortable for him under his arms - he is slowly getting used to it.”

Thank you for the honest review. Sorry to hear that he is not a fan of the harness. Unfortunately, we only supply over the head style harnesses. What I have found with fitting experience is that often if the harness is too close to the armpits, you can loosen the neck and it will drop the harness further down the back. You just need to adjust the harness to fit more securely to your dog's body. Hope this helps, Mountain Dog Team.

“I bought 2 harnesses for my Dachsunds - one of which is perfect however sadly the other is unsuitable as it rubs and has removed skin on the other dog who has shorter legs and so not suitable. Brilliant product but unfortunately tricky fit on smaller dogs.”

Hello Sarah, Our Ruffwear sizing guide is 100% accurate, however, we understand that this is not always ideal as dogs come in all shapes and sizes. One thing you could try is loosening the neck-straps. What this will do is allow you to drop the harness further down your dog's back allowing more space between the armpit and the harness. If by doing this, the harness is too big and doesn't fit your dog correctly, you can always return it for an exchange. If you visit our website and scroll to the very bottom of the page, you will find our returns centre. Just follow the instructions to set up your return. “Too small but looks a great little harness. Trying to sell it on as £3.99 for delivery plus £3.99 to return takes a big chunk out of my refund. Free returns if I exchange or buy something else, bit of a con. Note to self, always check delivery and especially return information”

Hi Valerie Many thanks for your comments. It is regrettable you have this view but as we provide items at a discount there is no way to subsidise a return - the use of our label is optional and for convenience only often people will use their own choice of courier such as Hermes or similar. We would have been very happy to exchange for the next size up completely free even though this is at a considerable cost to our small business Im not sure why you didnt pursue this option given your opinion on the product but our team are always available if you wish to discuss.
