Established as a home-based business in 2017 when our border collie pup, Denver, joined the family. Since then our business has grown rapidly alongside this fluff ball who still acts as our ambassadog and chief tester of many products.

“The lead is pretty good with the correct harness utilising both the front ‘no pull’ point and the one on the back, it works well for training no pull in the park, but I only gave it 3 stars as you can’t then go into town and keep the dog on a shorter lead as you can’t adjust the length and the lead is too narrow to hold on to without it hurting your hand. It needs a way of shortening it or adding a second ‘traffic’ handle.”

Hello Finlay, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our products are all supported with a sizing guide that is 100% accurate and is supported by the supplier. However, we understand that getting a perfect fit the first time around can be difficult to achieve. All dogs are of different sizes and body shapes and more often than not when the tape measure comes out they enjoy dancing around! If you haven't already, as long as your item is still in good condition, you can return it to Mountain Dog HQ for either a refund or exchange. Please note that if you choose to go with a full refund, there will be a postage charge of £3.99 if you use our label. The way this will work is that when your return lands, we will deduct £3.99 from the refunded item. For example, if you have spent £53.99, we will refund you £50.00. Alternatively, you can use your postage label which we will then provide the full refund of the item. Your other alternative is that you apply for an exchange. The exchange process is free and just as quick! Whichever option you choose, we aim to process your request the same day as your return lands.

“They are waterproof which is good however with both golden retrievers they are too short in the body and come way down the neck onto shoulders. Fit round girth but not good for really wet weather as it’s not snug round neck and chest.”

Hello Suzanne, Glad to hear that you were somewhat happy with your order. The Ruffwear Cloud Chasers are pretty cool. We understand that it was not ideal for the wet weather for you. We do have other coats and slim similar to the cloud chaser design. We have recently received into stock our Non-stop Fjords raincoats. They are lightweight and the most waterproof coats that we do. They also come in a choice of colours; purple, orange/black, green/black, blue/black and black. They also come with a cinch point on the neck, meaning the neck can be tightened for a better fit. “Size too small, Mountain Dog wouldn't pay for international post for bigger size to be sent to Ireland waiting on Refund. Disappointed losing cost of postal in supplying and returning”

Sorry to hear you are disappointed Monica. We are a tiny company and paying carriage to Ireland twice would mean we would make a significant loss on the sale - it simply isn't possible to subsidise this. Our terms & conditions highlight this for international customers but on a £30 item, £18 worth of carriage just doesn't cost in - sorry!

“Returned a collar and had to pay returns postage - not happy about that. Also not that happy about a process to go through to find a way to return. Obviously wasn't happy about the collar! Interested to see if this review is posted, as the one I wrote in reply to an email conversation wasn't....”

“The service was good, only moderately happy with the products. I returned a collar because I was unhappy with the design, and kept a harness that was ok (a little expensive for what it was). The collar price was refunded fine, but I had to pay return postage which under consumer regs I really should not have had to pay. I couldn't be bothered to argue though. Was a little annoying I had to log on for a "returns permission" - the detail should have been in the order really.”

Thank you for your review Heather. We are very pleased you exercised your rights to return this collar with our 30 day return policy as the design was not to your taste and we dont want you keeping a collar you don't like. Our system for returns is not to seek permission but to quickly advise what we will accept back and then give you steps on how to return it. The item was not faulty and as such our policy was that you pay for the return carriage, which contrary to your comments, is the accepted and lawful practice for on-line sales, had it been faulty in some way this wouldn't have been the case. Equally had you chosen to replace rather than refund it we would have sent that replacement at our cost. We are a small business and will always do this until you are satisfied. Good luck with the collar hunt.

Whilst we recommend supervised play at all times, we understand that it can be difficult to keep track of what your dog is doing all the time. We hope to see you again soon.
