The customer service is very poor, the website is very slow, stock is limited and costume selection is not updated regularly.

Whilst we hold over double the inventory of any other competitor, that doesn’t always mean we ourselves aren’t impacted occasionally by our own suppliers during this time. Whilst we always hope to despatch everything from stock, sometimes there can be delays. Our Purchasing Manager has been with IDS for 19 years and has used his experience and supplier network to manage stock during the last year of uncertain and unpredictable demand. Forecasting and planning has been almost impossible with the uncertainty related to lockdowns and reopening dates. We value the feedback and are working tirelessly to improve the situation. We’re sorry we’ve fallen short of your expectations on this occasion.

Unfortunately one of the items I also needed to order was not available in the sizes I required. After a conversation with somebody have been informed when they should become available. Excellent

We currently have two full warehouses in Newton Abbot, and we are ordering more than once a week from our key suppliers. Our in-stock position is over 90% overall and has been throughout the pandemic. We believe we continue to hold the largest stocks of any dancewear supplier in Europe. The vast majority of orders are being shipped immediately from stock, but we know there are products that you need which are not available and/or going onto back-order. The pandemic has challenged every business – its impact has been felt by our customers, our suppliers and ourselves. Even now that it is 18 months on, it continues to create challenges for supply chains globally. From Chinese factories in late 2019, to Italian fabric mills – and even greater impact today in India one of the world’s largest producers of leather footwear and Turkey one of Europe’s largest clothing manufacturers. Global logistics were already under strain before Brexit and the Suez Canal blockage were added into the equation. Throughout all of this we have done our best to manage our inventory, in stocks and continue to ship to our EU customers. Our Purchasing Manager has been with IDS for 19 years and has used his experience and supplier network to manage stock during the last year of uncertain and unpredictable demand. Forecasting and planning has been almost impossible with the uncertainty and related to lockdowns and reopening dates. Most important, we have a plan to ensure we have the product our customers want, when you want it and better manage our stock positions. We are increasing our warehouse capacity to hold more stock and we are working to shorten our lead times and as such, are moving to more and new local vendors as much as possible. We are making the necessary investments in product across brands, freight, logistics and our own infrastructure to better serve you.

I personally would like to have more delivery options like you had , there is no express delivery and to be able to speak to someone till at least 4pm

We have extended the UK phone line opening hours to 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday and as business continues to pick up this will be reviewed regularly. There is the option of Fedex 24hour delivery which should help if the normal delivery is not quick enough for your needs.

Your not a good as you used to be! Often allot of items are out of stock and customer services are slow. Still waiting for a response for a catalogue request for your costumes. May consider taking my 10 years of custom elsewhere unfortunately x

We are increasing our warehouse capacity to hold more stock and we are working to shorten our lead times and as such, are moving to more and new local vendors as much as possible. We are making the necessary investments in product across brands, freight, logistics and our own infrastructure to better serve you. The normal IDS Catalogue has not been published this Summer. This difficult but necessary decision was made in January at what would have normally been the start of a 8-9 month planning & design process. Given the uncertainty prevailing at that time, we would not have been able to guarantee product availability or pricing to commit to a printed catalogue. We launched 95 new costumes in late 2019 and there hasn’t been a full, uninterrupted UK and European performance season since then due to COVID, which is why this year we haven’t launched as many costumes as we would in a normal year. We know from our customer research that there are still Teachers who love having the IDS Catalogue to support their buying decisions – especially at showtime. An IDS Catalogue will therefore return soon! We want to be your first choice in dancewear, costumes and accessories and we hope that you are reassured that we’re taking important steps to being your preferred partner.

The service is fantastic, however there is a lot of variation in some of the sizes of items even when made by same brand. Which means I quite often have to pay to return items and re order.

Thank you for the review. The manufacturers all work to different sizing standards and we publish their sizing charts to try to help you get the correct size but are aware that this does not guarantee a perfect fit.

Sadly not as good as you used to be. Long before covid & brexit you started discontinuing items so I had the change my complete uniform. Now stock is always low or out of stock & takes months to arrive. Delivery used to be next day but that doesn’t happen either now. Please go back to how you were before you bought the company

Everything on my order was as expected, with the exception of Q13SB, which looked pale blue (like Q01) online, but actually is more bluebell/mauve, which was disappointing.

I am sorry the leotard was not the shade you expected. Whilst we do our best to faithfully reproduce the colours online it is not always possible to recreate the exact shade. Please feel free to return it if you are not happy with it.

I was really disappointed when ordering this time. Firstly, I ordered tap shoes for my daughter in a size 6. On arrival they were way too small. I contacted to order a larger size and asked if they could follow with the rest of my order to prevent a further delivery fee. The operator was very unhelpful. Due to the inaccurate sizing of one of your products I have ended up paying far more for goods. I will buy from elsewhere in future. Which is a shame as I have always had good service from you in the past.

We were unable to add the new order to the back order you already had as that would have delayed shipping the tap shoes to you until the goods you had on back order had arrived with us. We value your feedback and we’re sorry we’ve fallen short of your expectations on this occasion.
