“IDS is absolutely brilliant for quick deliveries, high quality items and a selection of dance costumes. However, I would say to make it even better I would benefit from there being more dance costumes available and also a free returns.”

I am sorry you found the costume sizes come up small, the manufacturers all work to different sizing standards, and we publish their sizing charts to try to help you get the correct size but are aware that this does not guarantee a perfect fit.

“Stock levels are still hot and miss but much better than three months ago. Customer service staff are hit and miss - some seem to care a lot, other not so much. Could look at shipping faster if in stock based on postage costs.”

Thank you for the review and your custom over the past 18 months. We apologise if you feel the service level is not as expected. We have improved our shipping times and product availability. Unfortunately the past couple of years did have a domino effect on many things, including factories and suppliers closing. We have now arranged alternative sources in case of unpredicted events happening again. In the meantime we are doing our best to get stock levels up to where they used to be. Any order placed before 12 noon is despatched the same day on a 48 hour tracked service but you can request an upgrade to next day delivery.

“Increasingly frustrated waiting for items that have been on back order or out of stock for months. My whole school uniform for all genres is from IDS and although I am a loyal customer I have considered changing to another supplier due to frustrations recently. Other than the above have always received excellent service from IDS for 25+ years.”

“Everything is great except the amount added through tax/postage and packaging. Especially where costume buying is concerned, where you can’t order everything in one bulk. So a lot of extra costing. Shame”

Thank you for the review and your custom over the last 2 years. We try to keep the postage costs down and set our charges as competitively as we can. If your order is over £75 net you do not pay postage at all and any back orders on that order go out with no additional postage charge. We have no control over the goods that are subject to VAT as that is laid down by the Customs and Excise Office but we try to keep our prices as low as we can to help you all.

“IDS have a great selection of costumes at very good prices. Most of all the staff are always helpful and patient. The problems with getting stock at this time is annoying to dance teachers but IDS are very helpful with delivery dates and back orders and keep you well informed throughout the process.”

“I am very pleased with most of the service from IDS but would like to be kept up to date on uniform staples as some items have been out of stock for many months with no news on when they may be available again. Similar alternative items are also out of stock.”

Thank you for the review and your valued custom over the last 15 years or so. There are still different levels of restrictions around the globe which are affecting dancewear companies and we are working with our suppliers to get the stock in. Our shelves are filling up as quickly as our suppliers can deliver into us but we cannot give definitive dates as there are so many variables from sourcing the fabric to haulage and customs which all affect any deliveries we receive. We do not want to promise that an item will arrive on a specific date and then have to let you down when it does not arrive. We want to continue to be your preferred supplier so please bear with us.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the hats were missing and a member of our customer service team has already arranged for replacements to be sent to you. With regards to the glitter, most items containing glitter will usually see a small amount come off during performances.
