"Stamp Howe is spacious, quiet and very comfortable. The garden is lovely and our dog enjoyed the many walks nearby. It is ideally situated for Ullswater, Coniston and very close to Ambleside and Windermere.\r\nCrockery, glassware and cutlery could do with being updated, and chipped paintwork on the kitchen cupboards as well as a plinth which was sticking out didn't make a very good first impression. \r\nHowever, we enjoyed our stay there very much and the Herdwick team were very helpful and supportive. We would definitely go back! "

"We absolutely loved our stay at The Deer House - what a hidden gem! Private and peaceful with breathtaking views across the estate - a proper escape from it all. We\u2019d 100% recommend it for anyone looking to recharge in nature.\r\n\r\nA couple of small things to note: when we arrived, the dishes weren\u2019t fully clean and there was a really strong smell in the downstairs area. At first we thought it was the surrounding farmland, but on our last day we realised it was actually coming from the stack of firewood inside (which we didn\u2019t use due to the hot weather).\r\n\r\nThe location itself is magical - right by the River Lune with stunning walks nearby. However, we were a bit confused by the estate access. The welcome book encourages guests to explore the grounds, but there were \u201cNO WALKERS\u201d and \u201cNO DOGS\u201d signs everywhere, which made us unsure where we were actually allowed to go. A simple estate map with some marked walking routes would make a huge difference and help guests feel more at ease.\r\n\r\nWe also tried to follow the guestbook\u2019s advice and walk to Kirkby Lonsdale, but the gate along the route was locked. We only realised later there was a small note by the front door explaining the path was closed - this info would\u2019ve been much more useful in the guestbook itself.\r\n\r\nWe popped into the estate office to ask about walks, but no one was around. Luckily we bumped into a lovely lady at the stables who was super helpful and gave us some guidance.\r\n\r\nOverall though, a beautiful spot and we had a really lovely stay. Just a few tweaks and this place would be absolutely perfect!"

"This is a wonderful cottage tucked away in Rooking. The views are fantastic. It has everything you need \ud83d\ude02. You can walk from the door, we didn't use the car all week. The food at the White Lions in Patterdale is great. We loved watching all the birds and especially the red squirrel. We will be back."

"Very well furnished pod in an ideal spot for exploring the Lake District. The shower was very good and the inclusion of a coffee maker was nice.\r\n\r\nThe welcome pack included chocolate which is always well received!\r\n"
