I wanted to find out in detail about kitchen facilities. Communication wasn't good so I ended up taking my own kitchen equipment for making a roast dinner, a sharp knife and also a cafetiere. These were already at the property and were of a high standard. I sent two messages and phoned, twice. Not good enough. Perhaps the kitchen inventory should be more detailed?

You emailed us at 17.30 with your specific questions, and we replied at 18:08 explaining that we did;t have the answers, and we would need to contact the owner to obtain the answers to your specific questions; you were advised that, as the owner is a farmer, there might be a delay getting back to you, which you confirmed was okay. Maria telephoned you the next morning, when the office reopened, with the answers to your questions. I'm sorry if you feel this wasn't quick enough. Having reviewed the correspondence, which is logged on your booking notes, and given your specific questions, I'm satisfied that the staff handled your enquiries quickly and courteously. just left cottage musty smell when arriving , broken toilet seats missing light shades also lights not working needing bulbs broken shower head couldnt move up or down , cigarette end at the back of chopping board dirty glasses needed to wash them all no dish wash tablets would have liked to have known this so we could have brought some no instructions to use washer dryer also no clothes dryer to dry clothes naturally washing line airer etc. one room two single beds pushed together floor badly scratched and damaged skirting boards table and chairs outside dirty flies stuck to the table. no seating in the back garden just l grass area. Hot tub temperature kept going to 39.4 really hot made us feel sick couldnt turn it down the temperature kept creeping back up next door neighbours had same issue. we saw a guy once drop tablets into hot tub quickest upkeep ever two headrests floating round the hot tub couldnt put them back on. When visiting other cottages robes were left for hot tub but not here i had to use my dressing gown it got soaked , also no special gifts on arrival last place we stayed left fresh bread butter cake pressecco nothing to welcome here but musty smell really disappointed unfortunately won't be going again 😞 visited june 11th to 15th 2021 bluebell cottage Hardwick cottages look beautiful this is down to the owners we may look at other cottages with them in the future
