“Whilst with booking through Vrbo I had minimal contact, the small contact I did have was excellent.”

“House was as described in the listing, booking was easy. Telephoned and spoke to a colleague before booking about how easy the walk to Bowness would be wanted assurance that the route would be paved as we had a 5 year old and baby in a pram, was told it was about half an hour walk on paved roads so we booked. However this was not accurate, most direct routes involved unpaved sections which we had to negotiate in single file. We eventually found a route that took us on the quiet roads around the house and we crossed the main road and walked through the marina, it was steep on the way back. So maybe provide accurate information or provide a map at the house. This was the only negative though and would use Herdwick Cottages again.”

“De vorige huurders hadden de verkeerde sleutel teruggehangen in het kastje. Na 1 telefoontje kwam er gelijk iemand aan om dit probleem op te lossen. Een dikke 10 voor deze meneer.”

“The service was great. I had initially booked another lodge, however I called the team they quickly moved me to a vacant one. I was pleased with this. I had to request additional towels and toilet paper, as we only had a couple. This was provided promptly, however. One small area of improvement could be that upon arrival, it would have been nice to receive complimentary snacks (small and simple biscuits, water bottles etc). It would add an extra touch and increase the hospitable atmosphere throughout the stay.”

“Really great stay and service from the Herdwick team. Lots of good up to date info, access was no problem and we got a bottle of champagne on arrival which was a lovely touch. The owners left a mobile number in case we needed to contact them which was thoughtful. Very well equipped and furnished cottage in a great location. Recommend this property and company very highly. Will use again. Thank you”
